Each of those verticals ships finished goods in wooden packaging, and each has different tolerances for moisture, drop-shock and export compliance. The district's manufacturing footprint is concentrated across a handful of well-defined estates, each with a distinct packaging profile.</p><ul><li><strong>Industrial Area Phase 1, 2, 7, 8, 8B and 9</strong> — the original PSIEC estates running along the Chandigarh-Ludhiana corridor. Heavy on auto-component machining, sheet-metal fabrication and electrical switchgear. Crates here are often heavy, irregular and built to ride the road network down to Mundra or JNPT.</li><li><strong>Sectors 82, 83 and 91 (IT City and Quark City)</strong> — IT campuses, data-centre kit and networking hardware. Lighter loads, but exporters here are strict on the look of the packaging and on export stamping for international shipments.</li><li><strong>Sectors 75, 80, 81 and 82 industrial belt</strong> — mixed engineering, food processing and a growing pharma packaging cluster feeding the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh (BBN) belt just across the Himachal border.</li><li><strong>Derabassi-Lalru belt</strong> — pharma APIs, agro-chemicals and tractor-component vendors. Crate volumes here are recurring and the spec list is short: boxes, pallets and container liners.</li></ul><p>Add the large two-wheeler plant at the Phase 1 entry, the tractor CKD packing demand pulled in by the region's tractor makers and their vendor base, and you get a fairly steady monthly draw on packing plywood across thicknesses from 8 mm up to 18 mm.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">What we ship</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Sheets, crates and container flooring</h2><p>Three product families cover almost every Mohali requirement we see.</p><h3>Packing-grade plywood sheets</h3><p>This is our core product for crate builders and in-house packing departments. We manufacture it on a hardwood core (rubberwood or jackwood), MR-grade phenolic-bonded, finished in standard 8x4 ft sheets. Most Mohali buyers pull from a narrow band of thicknesses.</p><table><thead><tr><th>Thickness</th><th>Typical use in Mohali loads</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>8 mm</td><td>Light IT hardware boxes, switchgear lids, internal partitions</td></tr><tr><td>10–12 mm</td><td>Standard crate sides and tops for auto components, pharma export cases</td></tr><tr><td>15–18 mm</td><td>Crate bases, heavy machinery boxes, tractor CKD bottoms, container floors</td></tr></tbody></table><p>We can run an Okoume face-veneer option on the same MR-Packing core when the export customer wants a cleaner look, common for European-bound pharma and IT shipments. Okoume is a face choice on our packing or BWR grade, not a separate grade. Ask if your buyer is specifying it by name.</p><h3>Ready crates and boxes</h3><p>For factories that don't want to run their own carpentry shed, we build complete crates to drawing — pinewood frame with packing-ply panels, optionally heat-treated to ISPM-15 with the IPPC mark for export. Typical Mohali jobs include tractor CKD crates (1.2 to 1.5 cubic metres each), engine-and-gearbox boxes for two-wheeler exports, and server-rack crates with internal foam dunnage. We can ship knocked-down (KD) bundles for the buyer to assemble on site if road volume is the bottleneck.</p><h3>Pallets and container flooring</h3><p>Standard Indian export pallets — 1200 x 1000 mm and 1200 x 800 mm Euro — in heat-treated pinewood, with a 12 mm packing-ply top deck where the load needs a continuous surface (sacks, drums, IBC bottoms). For container-stuffing operations at the rail nodes serving Mohali, 28 mm shuttering-grade ply works as a single-use container floor liner under wheeled cargo or sharp-edged machinery, cheaper than rebuilding the steel floor after each tractor or generator shipment.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Logistics</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Kochi to Mohali, by road or rail</h2><p>The route is roughly 2,400 km by road. There are two practical options.</p><ol><li><strong>Direct trucking</strong> — multi-axle 32-footer or container truck from Ernakulam via Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Nagpur and Delhi to Mohali. Transit is usually 6 to 8 days. Best for full-truck orders (one container of plywood is roughly 500 to 600 sheets of 18 mm, or 900+ sheets of 8 mm depending on density). FOR (freight-on-receiver) and FOB Cochin terms are both available; we typically advise FOR for first-time Mohali buyers so the rate lands clean at their gate.</li><li><strong>Containerised rail via Cochin Port (Vallarpadam ICD) to Ludhiana or the Dadri ICD</strong> — this works for export-bound crates and pallets that are already going into a sealed box, and for buyers in the BBN belt where rail to Ludhiana is the natural unload point. It is slower (10 to 14 days door-to-door) but takes the diesel exposure off the table.</li></ol><p>For ready crates and pallets, road wins almost every time — the volumetric weight of empty crates makes rail uneconomic unless you are consolidating with sheet stock.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Choosing a grade</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Which grade for which Mohali load</h2><p>A quick decision rule we run when scoping a Mohali enquiry:</p><ul><li><strong>Domestic crates, road transit, dry storage</strong> — MR-grade packing plywood, 12 mm sides, 15 mm base. Lowest landed cost per crate.</li><li><strong>Export crates, sea transit, monsoon-season stuffing</strong> — same construction but BWR-grade (boiling-water resistant) panels and full ISPM-15 heat-treated frames. The premium over MR is small versus the cost of a rejection at the destination port.</li><li><strong>Visible-face exports (pharma, IT, premium auto)</strong> — packing or BWR core with an Okoume face veneer. The finish is cleaner and the buyer's QC team stops asking questions about the timber.</li><li><strong>Container flooring, ramp boards, jigs</strong> — 28 mm film-faced shuttering ply. Single-shipment use, then either resold as scrap or re-used in the factory as work-table tops.</li></ul></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">FAQ</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Common questions from Mohali buyers</h2><h3>Do you supply ISPM-15 heat-treated crates with IPPC stamp?</h3><p>Yes. Our pinewood frames are heat-treated at registered facilities and stamped with the IPPC mark and the treatment provider code. The packing plywood panels themselves don't require treatment under ISPM-15 (processed wood is exempt), but the framing timber does, and we handle that end-to-end so the export documentation is clean.</p><h3>Can you hold buffer stock in or near Mohali?</h3><p>For monthly off-takes above roughly 20,000 sq ft of sheet equivalent, yes. We work with stocking partners in the Ludhiana-Mohali belt to keep 30 to 45 days of cover so urgent draws don't wait on a Kochi truck. Below that volume, scheduled monthly trucks usually beat the warehousing cost.</p><h3>What's the minimum order for a first trial?</h3><p>For sheets, one truck (roughly 18 to 22 tonnes depending on thickness mix) is the practical minimum to keep per-sqft freight reasonable to Mohali. For ready crates, we'll quote from 20 crates upwards. Smaller trial volumes are possible by consolidating with another north-India lane, but lead time stretches.</p></div>

It splits across at least four belts, each with its own packing logic. Every flow ends the same way at the warehouse door: goods leave Ludhiana in a wooden crate, on a wooden pallet, or inside a container with a plywood floor that can take a forklift. That is where our operation fits in, even at a 2,400 km distance. Plywood is light per cubic foot, the truck lane from Kerala into Punjab is mature, and the volumes Ludhiana exporters move justify a planned-supply relationship rather than spot buys from the local mandi.</p><h3>Focal Point (Phases I–VIII) — hosiery and woollens</h3><p>Focal Point is the workhorse industrial estate of Ludhiana, running across multiple phases east and south-east of the city. The dominant tenants are hosiery manufacturers, woollen and knitwear units, and the dye-houses and finishing units that support them. Their export packing requirement is specific: light-weight crates and cartons that have to survive container stuffing at ICD Dhandari Kalan or Sahnewal and then a long sea leg through Mundra Port or JNPT. The wood content is usually a plywood lid and base with sawn-timber cleats, or full plywood crates for higher-value woollen garments and made-ups.</p><h3>Industrial Area A, B and Gill Road — bicycle and bicycle parts</h3><p>Ludhiana's bicycle cluster is internationally known. CKD (Completely Knocked Down) bicycle exports are the high-volume use case here — frames, forks, rims, hubs and components packed flat into multi-layer crates designed to fit a 20' or 40' container's internal dimensions exactly. This is one of the most plywood-intensive packaging segments in India: a single export order can pull hundreds of crates a week, and consistency of thickness and core quality matters because the crates get re-stacked five and six high during ocean transit.</p><h3>GT Road and Doraha belt — auto components and forgings</h3><p>Auto-component, forging and fastener units, especially toward Doraha and Khanna, ship dense, heavy goods. Their crates need thicker plywood walls, heavier sawn-timber framing and properly nailed bases. They also consume a meaningful volume of pallets — both standard 1200×800 mm Euro and 1200×1000 mm industrial sizes — to handle inbound steel and outbound finished parts on forklifts.</p><h3>Sewing-machine, hand-tools and small machinery</h3><p>Ludhiana still has a strong sewing-machine and hand-tools base. These units typically run smaller export crates with mid-range packing-grade plywood lids and bases, and consume sawn timber for cleats and edge protection.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">What we ship</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Packing-grade ply, crates, pallets and sawn timber</h2><p>Our core line for a city like Ludhiana is packing-grade plywood — not the decorative product you would see in a furniture showroom, but a hardwood-core ply built specifically for crates, cases and pallets. Okoume is offered as a face-veneer option on the packing and BWR grades where lid appearance matters, not as a separate product. The everyday SKUs we move into Punjab look like this:</p><table><thead><tr><th>Product</th><th>Typical thickness</th><th>Typical sheet</th><th>Where it gets used in Ludhiana</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Commercial / Rubberwood packing-grade plywood</td><td>6, 8, 10, 12, 15, 18 mm</td><td>8'×4'</td><td>Hosiery &amp; woollen export crates, bicycle CKD crate walls, light auto-component cases</td></tr><tr><td>Okoume-faced packing plywood (premium)</td><td>9, 12, 15, 18 mm</td><td>8'×4'</td><td>High-value woollen made-ups, branded bicycle exports where lid appearance matters</td></tr><tr><td>BWR / shuttering ply</td><td>12, 18 mm</td><td>8'×4'</td><td>Heavy auto-forging crates, reusable returnable crates, container flooring repair</td></tr><tr><td>Sawn timber (hardwood)</td><td>Cut-to-size cleats, runners</td><td>By cft</td><td>Crate framing, pallet stringers, edge protection</td></tr></tbody></table><h3>Crate construction patterns</h3><p>Three patterns cover most of what Ludhiana actually builds: <strong>open crates</strong> with a ply lid, ply base and sawn-timber sides (cheapest, used for non-fragile woollens and knitwear); <strong>closed plywood cases</strong> with 6–9 mm ply on all six faces over a hardwood frame (the bicycle CKD standard); and <strong>heavy nailed crates</strong> with 12–15 mm ply walls and 18 mm bases for forgings and machinery. We manufacture the plywood and sawn timber as raw inputs and can also build crates and pallets to your drawing; where local assembly is preferred, the cut happens at the packer or in-house at the exporter.</p><h3>Pallets and container flooring</h3><p>Pallet demand from Ludhiana is split between the auto-components belt (industrial sizes for forklift handling) and the hosiery belt (lighter pallets for warehouse stacking and stuffing). For container flooring — replacement plywood when an existing ISO container's floor has rotted or the operator wants to convert to a flush plywood floor — 18 mm BWR is the standard call.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Logistics</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">The Kochi-to-Ludhiana lane</h2><p>The lane is mature and we plan around it rather than against it.</p><ul><li><strong>Distance:</strong> roughly 2,400 km by road from Kochi/Ernakulam to Ludhiana.</li><li><strong>Mode:</strong> primarily 32-foot multi-axle trucks, full-truck-load. A standard 32-ft truck takes a useful 8'×4' plywood payload of meaningful volume depending on thickness mix — we plan the loading sheet thickness-by-thickness to maximise it.</li><li><strong>Transit:</strong> 6–8 days door-to-door is the realistic working window, longer in monsoon and during Punjab's harvest-season trucker shortage.</li><li><strong>Route:</strong> Kochi → Bengaluru/Salem belt → Maharashtra → MP → Rajasthan → Punjab. Toll, diesel and detention build the freight component.</li><li><strong>Order economics:</strong> for Ludhiana, full-truck loads make sense; LTL/part-loads from Kerala are slow and unreliable. We typically advise customers to consolidate a month's requirement into one or two trucks.</li></ul><p>For one-way ocean legs out of Ludhiana, our packing-grade plywood and crate timber are produced to support ISPM-15 heat-treatment and fumigation where the exporter's destination requires a phytosanitary mark; we coordinate the treatment line with the order. All rates are quoted <strong>ex-factory; GST and transport extra</strong> — once destination, exact size mix and monthly quantity are confirmed, we build the proforma against an actual lane rate rather than a thumb-rule.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Choosing a grade</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Which grade for which load</h2><h3>Use commercial / rubberwood packing-grade when…</h3><p>The crate is one-way export, the goods are moderately fragile but not delicate (knitwear, woollens, hardware, bicycle CKD without premium branding), and you are buying in volume. This is the workhorse SKU for Ludhiana and covers the majority of Focal Point demand.</p><h3>Choose the Okoume face when…</h3><p>The lid or visible face matters — branded woollens, premium bicycle exports, anything where the buyer at the other end opens the crate in a showroom or distributor warehouse and surface appearance reflects on the brand. An Okoume face is also lighter for the same thickness, which helps when ocean freight is charged by weight.</p><h3>Use BWR / shuttering ply when…</h3><p>Crates will be reused, are exposed to outdoor staging in monsoon, carry forging or heavy-machinery loads, or you are doing container floor replacement. BWR is the moisture-and-load answer; it is not the right call for light hosiery cases where you are paying for performance you do not need.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">FAQ</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Common questions on the Ludhiana lane</h2><h3>What is the minimum order for shipping from Kochi to Ludhiana?</h3><p>Full-truck-load is the economical unit on this lane. Below FTL, freight per sheet rises sharply and transit times stretch unpredictably through transhipment hubs. Most Ludhiana buyers consolidate a 3–4 week requirement into one truck.</p><h3>How are payment and delivery handled at this distance?</h3><p>Typical sequence: WhatsApp or phone qualification (thickness, size, monthly volume, delivery point), proforma invoice from us with ex-factory, transport and GST broken out, advance against PI, dispatch, balance against POD/lorry receipt. Detention at Ludhiana drop-off is on the buyer's account.</p><h3>Do you supply finished crates, or only raw plywood and timber?</h3><p>We manufacture packing-grade plywood and sawn timber, and can build crates and pallets to your drawing. For one-way export volume, many Ludhiana exporters prefer crate assembly at a local fabricator close to the packing line, both for cost and for handling rework; in that case we supply the raw inputs in the exact thickness, size and grade mix the fabricator needs. Crate timber can be supplied ISPM-15 heat-treated where the destination requires it.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Get a quote</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Talk to us about your Ludhiana requirement</h2><p>If your unit sits anywhere in the Focal Point, Industrial Area, GT Road or Doraha belts and you are buying plywood, sawn timber or container flooring material every month, it is worth a 10-minute conversation about lane economics and a planned-supply rate from Kochi. We manufacture in Perumbavoor, where our group has run plywood operations since 1986, and we will ask three things: thickness and size mix, monthly volume, and the exact drop-off point. From there we build a proforma you can compare line-for-line against your current source. <a href="/contact">Request a quote</a> with those three inputs, or browse the <a href="/resources">resource hub</a> for grade-selection notes, crate specs and packing-case literature before you reach out.</p></div>

The Doaba belt is unusual in that three serious export verticals share the same carpenters and packing yards: sports goods, hand-tools and surgical instruments. Each ships in different box sizes, but they all need the same things from a plywood supplier 2,400 km away in Kerala — dimensional stability, a reliable transit time, and a sheet the local crate-makers can nail and band without splitting.</p><h3>Sports goods cluster</h3><p>Focal Point Phase I to VIII, Basti Nau, Industrial Area-A and the units around Mithapur Road carry most of the sports goods manufacturing. Cricket bats, hockey sticks, footballs, boxing equipment, gym hardware and inflatables move out to the UK, Australia, the Gulf and Africa. The packing job is largely export cartons and lightweight crates — flat sheets cut to size, sometimes a die-cut insert.</p><h3>Hand-tools</h3><p>Jalandhar is the single largest export cluster for hand tools sold into Europe and North America. Wrenches, pliers, hammers, garden tools and agricultural implements — the volumes are heavy and the crates need to hold up under stacked sea transit. Focal Point and the Leather Complex Road belt run a lot of this work, plus the smaller yards around Kapurthala Road and Nakodar Road.</p><h3>Surgical instruments</h3><p>Forceps, scalpels, orthopaedic tools and dental instruments — small unit weight but high value, often shipped in nested plywood inner boxes with foam, then crated for the outer. This is precision packing work, and the buyers are unforgiving on moisture, splinters and odour.</p><h3>Adjacent flows</h3><p>Auto-component and tractor-part suppliers along the Phagwara–Jalandhar corridor, leather goods from the Leather Complex, and a growing line of agri-machinery exports all add to the same packing demand. Anything export-bound that needs heat-treated crating eventually sits on a plywood pallet or inside a plywood box.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">What we ship</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">The four product calls from Punjab</h2><p>Orders from Punjab tend to cluster around four product calls. Pricing below is the indicative selling band — ex-factory, GST and freight extra, quoted on confirmation.</p><h3>Packing-grade plywood (commercial / rubberwood)</h3><table><thead><tr><th>Thickness</th><th>Typical use</th><th>Indicative rate (per sq.ft, ex-factory)</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>6 mm</td><td>Light sports goods cartons, dividers</td><td>Rs 24</td></tr><tr><td>8 mm</td><td>Inner boxes, surgical inner packs</td><td>Rs 28</td></tr><tr><td>12 mm</td><td>Standard hand-tools export crate sides and tops</td><td>Rs 33.5</td></tr><tr><td>15–16 mm</td><td>Heavy hand-tools, stacked crate loads</td><td>Rs 39 – 39.5</td></tr><tr><td>18 mm</td><td>Heavy-duty bases, container flooring repairs</td><td>Rs 42</td></tr></tbody></table><h3>Okoume face option</h3><p>For export crates that get visually inspected on arrival — premium surgical kits, branded sports equipment, anything that goes into a Western retail supply chain — an Okoume face veneer on the packing or BWR grade gives a cleaner external finish and lower weight per crate. We quote the Okoume option separately because it tracks African log markets, not the Indian commercial board.</p><h3>Pallets and crate kits</h3><p>Standard despatches into Punjab include 1200 x 1000 mm and 1200 x 800 mm pallets with hardwood runners (jackwood at Rs 400/cft or rubberwood as per size), and pre-cut crate sets where the buyer wants to assemble locally. Container flooring — typically 28 mm marine-pattern board for 20-ft and 40-ft container repairs and one-way export crates — is a recurring line.</p><h3>Sawn timber</h3><p>Jackwood and rubberwood runners go up with the plywood when the buyer's own carpentry is building bespoke crates around heavier machinery or auto components.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Logistics</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Kochi to Jalandhar, road-direct on the Doaba lane</h2><p>The lane is roughly 2,400 km by road. Loaded trucks out of Perumbavoor and the Kochi belt typically run via NH 544 to Salem, NH 44 through the Bangalore–Hyderabad–Nagpur corridor, then up via Jhansi–Agra–Delhi–Ambala–Jalandhar. Realistic transit is 6 to 8 days for a single-driver truck, 4 to 5 days with a relay driver, depending on Punjab entry checkpoint timings.</p><p>For larger orders we run full-truck despatches direct to the buyer's yard in Focal Point or wherever the packing line sits. For smaller mixed loads we consolidate via established Kochi-to-North-India transporters and offload at the Jalandhar transport nagar. Coastal shipping to JNPT with onward road to Jalandhar is an option for very large container-equivalent volumes, but on most lanes road-direct from Kochi wins on cost and headache.</p><p>One operator note: Punjab's entry and weighment formalities are smoother for full-load consignments with clean GST paperwork than for partials, so we usually advise customers to time their indents to fit a full truck rather than three small ones in a month. Export crates built and stuffed in Jalandhar carry the ISPM-15 heat-treatment stamp locally; we supply the IS 710 / IS 303 board and runners that go into them.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Choosing a grade</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Decision rules — packing, Okoume face or shuttering</h2><ul><li><strong>Standard hand-tools and sports goods export crates:</strong> commercial / rubberwood packing grade in 12 mm for sides and 15–16 mm for the base. This is the workhorse for Jalandhar.</li><li><strong>Surgical instruments and premium retail-bound sports goods:</strong> an Okoume face on the outer crate when the brand cares about presentation; commercial packing grade for the inner boxes.</li><li><strong>Heavy machinery, auto-component and agri-equipment crates:</strong> 18 mm packing grade base with jackwood runners; 15 mm packing grade sides.</li><li><strong>Container flooring repairs / one-way export container builds:</strong> 28 mm board on a BWR glue line, often paired with hardwood bearers.</li><li><strong>Shuttering ply:</strong> reserved for Jalandhar's construction and infra buyers, not the packing belt. We despatch it on the same lane, but it is a separate conversation.</li></ul></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">FAQ</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Questions from Jalandhar buyers</h2><h3>What is the minimum order you ship to Punjab?</h3><p>A single full truck, roughly 8 to 10 tonnes of plywood depending on thickness mix. Smaller orders are possible via consolidated transport, but the per-sheet landed cost goes up noticeably, so most regular buyers indent in full-truck lots.</p><h3>How firm are delivery dates from Kochi?</h3><p>For a confirmed indent against a proforma invoice, the truck is loaded within 3 to 5 working days from our dispatch yard, then 6 to 8 days in transit. We share the lorry receipt and driver number on loading; buyers in Focal Point usually plan their packing-line schedule around an 11 to 14 day total window from PI to gate.</p><h3>Do you supply ISPM-15 heat-treated crates?</h3><p>We supply the plywood and the runners; the ISPM-15 heat-treatment stamp is applied by accredited fumigation units at the buyer's location, which is the more practical arrangement for export crates being built and stuffed in Jalandhar itself.</p></div>

Add the food-processing units in Verka and Mehta Road, the auto-component vendors feeding the Punjab cluster, and the ICP-Attari overland trade with Afghanistan and Central Asia, and the city becomes one of North India's denser pockets of bulk packing demand.</p><p>Buyers in Amritsar tend to sit in a few well-defined belts. Knowing which belt a consignment is bound for usually tells us the right plywood spec before the buyer has opened a sample.</p><ul><li><strong>East and West Focal Point (Verka, Mehta Road)</strong> — the largest organised industrial estates in the district, anchored by textile processing, ready-made garments, denim, food and beverage units, and auto components. Most export crates for apparel and finished goods originate here.</li><li><strong>Jandiala Guru brassware cluster</strong> — a 200-year-old hand-beaten brass and bell-metal hub. Heavy, awkward, scratch-sensitive utensils that ship to the GCC, the UK and the US in cushioned wooden cases.</li><li><strong>Chheharta and G.T. Road belt</strong> — engineering, hand-tools, agro-machinery and smaller fabricators. Mixed packing requirements, from a 6 mm sheet for a light carton liner up to a 25 mm shuttering board for a foundation pour.</li><li><strong>ICP Attari trade corridor</strong> — dry fruits (almonds, pistachios, raisins, figs), spices and cement crossing into and out of Afghanistan. Wooden cases here see rough handling across two borders and Punjab winters.</li><li><strong>Rajasansi airport cargo and the Amritsar–Delhi freight lane</strong> — feeders for air-freight crates and high-value consolidations heading to the IGI cargo terminal.</li></ul><p>The common thread is bulk, cost-sensitive packaging that still has to survive a 1,500 km road run, a sea container or an air-cargo handover. That is the brief our packing-grade plywood is built for.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">What we ship</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Sheets, crates, pallets and flooring from one operation</h2><h3>Packing-grade plywood — the workhorse</h3><p>The bulk of Amritsar's order book is commercial / rubberwood plywood in standard 8 ft x 4 ft sheets across the packing-grade thickness range — 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 15, 16 and 18 mm. The 12 mm and 18 mm sheets do most of the heavy lifting (case walls, lids, base boards). 6 mm and 8 mm go into liners, dividers and internal cushioning for brassware and dry-fruit cartons. Thicker 18 mm and 25 mm boards build the skids and base frames that take the forklift load.</p><h3>Made-up crates and packing cases</h3><p>For the textile and apparel exporters in the Focal Point, and for the brassware shippers in Jandiala Guru, we manufacture finished crates cut and pre-assembled to drawing — open-top, closed, slotted, or two-piece with screwed lids. Typical specs that move:</p><ul><li>Garment export cases — 18 mm walls, 12 mm internal partitions, 25 mm skid base, three-runner bottom.</li><li>Brassware crates — 18 mm panels with 8 mm internal lining for scratch protection, corner-block reinforcement.</li><li>Dry-fruit and spice cases — heat-treated to ISPM-15, lower thickness (12–15 mm) where load allows, stencilled with the IPPC mark.</li></ul><h3>Pallets — ISPM-15 stamped</h3><p>The standard four-way-entry 1200 x 1000 mm and 1200 x 800 mm Euro footprints move regularly, alongside custom sizes for awkward brassware and machinery loads. All export pallets are heat-treated and IPPC-stamped at a registered facility so Attari and JNPT clear them without query.</p><h3>Container flooring and shuttering ply</h3><p>For the auto-component and machinery shippers loading 20 ft and 40 ft containers out of ICD Dhandari Kalan and ICD Ludhiana, we supply 28 mm container-flooring plywood. The agro and infra builders along G.T. Road buy our BWR shuttering plywood for slab and column work, where re-use cycles matter more than finish.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Logistics</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Kochi to Amritsar, up the western corridor</h2><p>The lane runs roughly 2,500 km by road — Kochi up through Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Udaipur and Delhi into Amritsar. A standard 32 ft single-axle or multi-axle trailer takes 6–8 days door-to-door depending on the season and the driver's run. We aggregate sheet orders into full-truck loads of roughly 18–22 tonnes (around 800–1,000 sheets of 18 mm equivalent), the cost-efficient lot size for the lane. Smaller orders go part-load through scheduled freight movers running the Kochi–Delhi–Amritsar leg, with 10–14 day transit. Both options land at the buyer's gate with sealed-truck delivery and a single LR for reconciliation.</p><p>For larger or recurring buyers, we can quote ex-Cochin port (FOB) and route via coastal feeder to Mundra Port, then road into Amritsar — the maths sometimes favours this for 40 ft container loads of finished crates and pallets. Export pallets and crates ship heat-treated and IPPC-stamped, with the treatment certificate travelling alongside the LR so the documentation closes at dispatch.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Choosing a grade</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Which spec for which job</h2><table><thead><tr><th>Amritsar use case</th><th>Recommended spec</th><th>Why</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Garment / denim export crates</td><td>Packing-grade commercial ply, 12 mm walls, 18 mm base</td><td>Cost-efficient, dimensionally stable for stacked sea-freight loads.</td></tr><tr><td>Brassware export cases</td><td>Packing-grade 18 mm + 8 mm liner, ISPM-15 treated</td><td>Scratch protection on soft brass surfaces; border-compliant.</td></tr><tr><td>Dry-fruit cases via ICP Attari</td><td>12–15 mm packing-grade, IPPC stamped</td><td>Lighter case weight where load is moderate; treated for overland border movement.</td></tr><tr><td>Auto-component / machinery export</td><td>18 mm packing ply with Okoume face for premium finish</td><td>An Okoume face panel gives a cleaner look for end-customer-facing crates without the cost of full Okoume construction.</td></tr><tr><td>Container flooring</td><td>28 mm container-flooring plywood</td><td>Load rating for forklift traffic inside the box.</td></tr><tr><td>Site shuttering — infra and real-estate</td><td>BWR shuttering plywood, 12 mm</td><td>Multiple-pour re-use; resists Punjab monsoon damp.</td></tr></tbody></table><p>Where a buyer is unsure, our default position is simple: order packing-grade for case walls and bases, and add an Okoume face only where the crate is end-customer visible or the importer specifies a premium finish. Okoume here is a face-veneer option on the packing and BWR grades, not a separate grade.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">FAQ</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Common questions from Amritsar buyers</h2><h3>Do you supply heat-treated, IPPC-stamped pallets for Attari and JNPT clearance?</h3><p>Yes. All export pallets and crates can be heat-treated at a registered facility and stencilled with the IPPC mark to ISPM-15. We send the treatment certificate with the LR so the export documentation is closed at dispatch.</p><h3>What is the minimum order size you can ship to Amritsar?</h3><p>Full truck loads (around 800–1,000 sheets of 18 mm equivalent, or the equivalent in made-up crates and pallets) are the most cost-efficient. Smaller part-load consignments are possible through scheduled freight movers — transit stretches to 10–14 days and per-sheet freight goes up, but it is workable for trial orders.</p><h3>Can you cut crates to drawing, or do you only ship sheets?</h3><p>Both. We ship raw sheets to Amritsar packers who build cases in-house, and we manufacture pre-cut, pre-assembled crates and pallets to specification for buyers who would rather receive finished packing units at the gate.</p></div>

Commercial vehicle chassis, agricultural machinery, diesel engines and tier-1 castings move out of this Madhya Pradesh industrial belt every day, and almost all of them ride inside a wooden case, on a wooden pallet, or over a plywood-floored container.</p><p>The town sits about 30 km southwest of Indore on NH-3 and is run as a planned cluster by MPAKVN (Madhya Pradesh Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam, Indore). It is laid out in four developed sectors — Sector 1, Sector 2, Sector 3 and the newer Sector 7 — plus the Pithampur Special Economic Zone (MPSEZ). The mix of tenants is what makes the packaging demand interesting: heavy commercial vehicles, tractors, off-road equipment, engines, auto components, pharma capital equipment and food-processing machinery.</p><h3>The industrial sub-belts that drive plywood demand</h3><ul><li><strong>Commercial vehicle and tractor OEMs</strong> — major truck, bus and tractor plants run in Pithampur. CKD (Completely Knocked Down) and SKD shipments of chassis aggregates and tractor assemblies are crated for export and inter-plant movement.</li><li><strong>Diesel engines and power systems</strong> — engine and large genset enclosure makers in the cluster need heavy-duty crates with rebated corners and lifting skids.</li><li><strong>Tier-1 auto components</strong> — castings, forgings, transmissions, axles, sheet-metal panels and bumpers. These move on pallets between Pithampur and assembly plants in Pune, Chennai, Lucknow and overseas.</li><li><strong>Pharma and food-processing capital equipment</strong> — Pithampur and the wider Indore region also house pharma machinery and food-machinery makers, whose finished equipment travels in fumigated, ISPM-15 compliant cases.</li><li><strong>Container freight stations and 3PL hubs</strong> — the Dhannad and Mangliya ICDs near Indore, plus container freight stations around Pithampur, generate steady demand for 14 mm and 18 mm container flooring and side liners.</li></ul></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">What we ship</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">What we manufacture for Pithampur</h2><p>The packing-grade plywood and case work serving Central India's auto belt typically runs to a few repeatable specs. We also cut to size where the case-shop wants pre-sized blanks to reduce wastage. Face veneer options on this grade are commercial hardwood and Gurjan; Okoume face is available on request for export-grade aesthetics.</p><h3>Wooden cases and CKD crates</h3><p>For the heavy commercial vehicle and tractor lines in Sector 1 and Sector 3, the typical case is a plywood-clad pinewood or hardwood frame, with a 12 mm or 15 mm packing-ply skin, runners on the base, and ISPM-15 stamped softwood for any solid-wood members. We build to drawing — load weight, lashing points, fork-pocket spacing, internal cradles and foam profiling. Where the OEM has a packaging engineer's spec sheet, we work directly off that.</p><h3>Pallets</h3><p>Common pallet sizes for the Pithampur auto belt:</p><ul><li>1200 x 1000 mm — the ISO/euro-adjacent standard for component movement.</li><li>1200 x 800 mm — Euro pallet, where the consignee is in Europe.</li><li>1100 x 1100 mm — common for Japanese and South-East Asian OEM lines.</li><li>Custom oversized skids — for engine blocks, transmissions and chassis sub-assemblies.</li></ul><h3>Container flooring and CFS work</h3><p>18 mm BWR plywood with phenolic glue is the working spec for container re-flooring jobs at the ICDs around Indore. We supply sheet stock or pre-cut planks to the CFS contractors.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Logistics</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Kochi to Pithampur — the logistics picture</h2><p>Pithampur is roughly 1,650–1,700 km by road from our Perumbavoor base near Kochi. Trucks run via NH-544 / NH-44 through Salem, the Bengaluru bypass, Hubballi and Pune, then NH-3 / NH-52 through Dhule and Indore to Pithampur. Single-driver transit is typically 4–5 days; double-driver 3 days for time-critical loads.</p><p>For most packing-grade plywood orders the economics favour direct road from Perumbavoor — a 32-foot multi-axle SXL carries roughly 22–24 tonnes of plywood, which is around 950–1,050 sheets of 12 mm depending on density. Where the customer wants a smaller drop and the freight per sheet is sensitive, we consolidate loads to Indore CFS and arrange last-mile drops to Sector 1, 2, 3 or 7. For Okoume export-grade lots we can also ship FOB Cochin if the consignee is moving the finished crate overseas from a different port — that decision is usually driven by who controls the export leg.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Choosing a grade</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Which grade for which Pithampur load</h2><h3>Use MR Packing grade when</h3><ul><li>The case is moving domestic — Pune, Chennai, Lucknow, Jamshedpur.</li><li>The voyage, if any, is short (UAE, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh).</li><li>Cost per sheet matters and the case will be opened once and discarded.</li></ul><h3>Use BWR / phenolic-bonded plywood when</h3><ul><li>The crate is going on a long sea voyage — Europe, US, West Africa, Latin America.</li><li>The case will sit on a port apron or open yard for extended periods.</li><li>Container re-flooring or repeated-use cradles.</li></ul><h3>Use an Okoume face when</h3><ul><li>The end customer is overseas and case appearance is part of brand presentation — premium agricultural machinery, defence equipment, high-end engines.</li><li>Light-weight case construction is preferred for air freight or weight-sensitive sea freight.</li></ul><h3>Use shuttering ply when</h3><ul><li>The buyer is a civil contractor working on a Pithampur factory shed, MPAKVN infrastructure or warehouse expansion — not a packaging use, but a recurring Pithampur demand we serve from the same stock.</li></ul></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">FAQ</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Pithampur plywood supply — common questions</h2><h3>How much plywood fits in one truck from Kochi to Pithampur?</h3><p>A 32-foot SXL carries around 22–24 tonnes. For 12 mm packing-grade plywood that translates to roughly 950–1,050 sheets of 8' x 4'. For 18 mm container flooring the count drops to around 640–700 sheets at the same weight.</p><h3>Can you supply ISPM-15 stamped wooden cases ready to ship?</h3><p>Yes. The plywood skin is BIS-grade; the solid-wood frame and runners are heat-treated and ISPM-15 stamped before despatch. We co-ordinate the heat treatment through approved facilities and send the case to the OEM's stuffing yard in Pithampur ready to load.</p><h3>Do you take partial loads or only full trucks?</h3><p>Both. Full truckload (FTL) from Perumbavoor direct to Pithampur is the cheapest per sheet. For smaller orders we consolidate at the Indore CFS hub and last-mile to the consignee, or piggyback on an existing Pithampur load — ask when you request the quote.</p></div>

That mix produces steady, year-round demand for industrial packing that has very little tolerance for failure. A defence consignment cannot arrive with a split crate, and a marble slab cannot ride 1,700 km on a pallet that delaminates the first time it sees a Madhya Pradesh monsoon. The demand splits cleanly into three blocks.</p><h3>Defence and ordnance cluster</h3><p>Jabalpur anchors a large defence-manufacturing cluster — ordnance and armament works, a military-vehicle plant at Khamaria, an explosives and ammunition unit and a heavy iron foundry. Around them sits a long tail of MSME ancillaries machining components, sub-assemblies and spares. All of this output ships by road or rail in wooden cases built to military packing standards: heavy-duty ply skins, sawn-timber framing and tight dimensional tolerances, because the cases often have to fit defined rail-wagon or container footprints.</p><h3>Marble, limestone and mineral processing</h3><p>Jabalpur district and the surrounding Katni–Satna belt are major marble and limestone hubs. Processors here cut, polish and crate slabs for buyers in Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Hyderabad, and for export through Mundra and Nhava Sheva. Slab crates are a specific animal — A-frame or cradle-style, carrying serious point loads, and needing both packing ply for the cradle deck and sawn timber for the structural frame. Marble dust, which the district produces in huge quantities, is itself shipped in bags on wooden pallets to cement, paint and chemical buyers.</p><h3>General engineering and the industrial estates</h3><p>The Richhai, Adhartal and Umaria-Dungaria industrial estates host transformer winding shops, foundries, casting units and electrical-equipment makers. Anything heavy, fragile or export-bound from these belts moves in plywood-skinned cases. Add the cable-drum work that feeds power-transmission projects across central India, and demand for 12 mm to 18 mm packing ply stays constant.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">What we ship</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Heavy, durable packing — built for the load, not the showroom</h2><p>Demand on this lane skews to heavy, durable packing rather than furniture-grade ply. The mix we manufacture and move most often into Jabalpur:</p><h3>Packing-grade plywood</h3><p>Commercial and rubberwood-core packing ply in 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm, 15 mm and 18 mm thicknesses, standard 8 ft × 4 ft sheets. The 12 mm and 15 mm boards are the bread-and-butter sizes for defence and engineering cases. The 18 mm goes into base panels, cradle decks for marble crates and container-floor patches; 6 mm and 8 mm serve as case lids and internal partitions. Every board is pressed for case-making, so we optimise for nail-holding, screw retention, panel rigidity and moisture tolerance rather than face cosmetics.</p><h3>Built crates and cases</h3><p>For buyers who want to skip the carpentry step, we supply finished crates built to drawing: plywood skins over sawn jackwood or rubberwood framing, corner blocks, base runners, lifting cleats and ISPM-15 heat-treated stamping where the crate is heading for export. Typical sizes range from compact ammunition-grade cases up to engineering-equipment cases over 2 m long.</p><h3>Pallets and container flooring</h3><p>Standard four-way pallets in 1200 × 1000 mm and 1100 × 1100 mm, plus custom sizes for marble-slab cradles. For container-loading customers, 18 mm and 25 mm plywood floor sheets that absorb point loads and survive forklift traffic.</p><h3>Sawn timber</h3><p>Jackwood runners at quarter-inch-minus tolerance for case framing, and rubberwood runners cut to buyer specification. Sawn timber is sold by the cubic foot, ex-factory.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Logistics</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Kochi to Jabalpur — the logistics reality</h2><p>The road distance from Kochi to Jabalpur runs roughly 1,650 to 1,750 km depending on route. The standard trucking lane goes Kochi – Bangalore – Hyderabad – Nagpur – Jabalpur, and a fully loaded multi-axle truck completes the run in 5 to 7 days door-to-door. For container loads heading to Mumbai or Mundra for export, the economics often work better as Kochi to Mumbai by sea plus Mumbai to Jabalpur by road; for direct factory-delivered orders into Jabalpur, road is the standard. Three things matter on this lane:</p><ul><li><strong>Load planning.</strong> A 32 ft single-axle takes around 9 tonnes of packing ply; a 22 ft truck around 6 tonnes. We share a loading plan with truck capacity, headroom and unloading charge before despatch, so the buyer is not surprised at the gate.</li><li><strong>Monsoon protection.</strong> The central-India leg can see heavy rain. Loads are tarped and the buyer-side unloading sequence is briefed in advance.</li><li><strong>GST and e-way bill.</strong> All ex-factory rates exclude GST and transport, and we generate the e-way bill from the Kochi-side dispatch.</li></ul><p>For export crates leaving on the long sea leg through Mundra or Nhava Sheva, we apply ISPM-15 heat treatment and IPPC stamping so the consignment clears phytosanitary checks at destination.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Choosing a grade</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Which grade fits which Jabalpur load</h2><p>A quick operator's guide for the city's typical applications:</p><table><thead><tr><th>End use</th><th>Recommended grade</th><th>Typical thickness</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Defence ordnance cases (domestic movement)</td><td>Commercial packing ply</td><td>12 mm skins, 18 mm base</td></tr><tr><td>Defence or engineering export cases (ISPM-15)</td><td>BWR packing ply + heat-treated framing</td><td>12–15 mm skins, 18 mm base</td></tr><tr><td>Marble slab A-frame crates</td><td>Commercial packing ply + jackwood runners</td><td>18 mm cradle deck</td></tr><tr><td>Cable drums (transformer / power projects)</td><td>Commercial packing ply</td><td>12–15 mm</td></tr><tr><td>Container floor patching</td><td>BWR or shuttering ply</td><td>18–25 mm</td></tr><tr><td>Construction shuttering on site</td><td>Film-faced shuttering ply</td><td>12–18 mm</td></tr></tbody></table><p>An Okoume face veneer is a finishing option on our packing and BWR grades, not a separate grade. It is generally over-spec for domestic Jabalpur use and earns its premium on long-leg sea export, or when the buyer wants a clean, uniform face for branding. Most local defence and marble work is served better, and more economically, by the standard MR-packing range.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">FAQ</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Common questions on the Jabalpur lane</h2><h3>Do you ship single-truck loads to Jabalpur or only containers?</h3><p>Both. A typical first order is one 22 ft or 32 ft truck of mixed thicknesses. Larger marble-export buyers and defence ancillaries often build up to a 20 ft container equivalent per dispatch. We size the dispatch to what the buyer can unload in a single shift.</p><h3>Can you build to a defence or ordnance drawing?</h3><p>Yes. Our group has manufactured packing cases to drawing-spec for forty years across defence, engineering and export sectors. Share the drawing, intended consignment weight, transport mode and any ISPM-15 or sealing requirement, and we quote built-crate price per piece.</p><h3>What are payment terms for a first dispatch to Jabalpur?</h3><p>First-order standard is advance against proforma invoice, with rates ex-factory and GST plus transport extra. Repeat customers move to part-advance, balance-against-LR terms once the relationship is established.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Get a quote</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Ready to spec a Jabalpur load?</h2><p>Share thickness, quantity, the end use and the delivery address inside Jabalpur, and we will come back with a proforma invoice, a load plan and a realistic dispatch date. A plant that builds a 200-tonne transformer body does not ship it in cardboard, and a railway bogie frame coming out of the city's coach-works does not survive the trip to Mumbai port on a soft pallet. That is why plywood — specifically heavy-duty packing-grade plywood, ISPM-15 crating timber, four-way pallets and container flooring — flows into the Bhopal industrial belt in volumes most outsiders underestimate.</p><p>The packing-plywood demand in and around Bhopal clusters in four pockets, and each one has a slightly different load profile:</p><ul><li><strong>The heavy-electrical complex (Piplani / Govindpura).</strong> Power and traction transformers, switchgear, hydro and turbo-generator components and traction motors. Loads here run from a few hundred kilograms up to multi-tonne single pieces that go out as bolted-down sea-worthy crates with internal cradles and desiccant pockets.</li><li><strong>Govindpura Industrial Estate.</strong> One of the state development corporation's oldest estates — mixed engineering, auto components, capital-goods sub-assemblies, electrical panels and cable drums. Mid-weight crating, recurring pallet demand and a steady appetite for packing-grade ply at 12 mm and 18 mm.</li><li><strong>Mandideep Industrial Area.</strong> Roughly 23 km south of Bhopal on NH-46, anchored by a large graphite-electrode plant, pharmaceutical units, consumer-goods makers and electrical-equipment manufacturers. Heavy export crates for graphite electrodes, white-goods cartons over wooden pallets and a healthy run of commercial-grade ply for tier-2 assemblers.</li><li><strong>Coach-works and defence supply chains (Nishatpura).</strong> Railway coach interior fit-out parts, defence-vehicle sub-assemblies and ordnance support equipment all move in bolted, ISPM-15 stamped wooden cases.</li></ul><p>The common thread: heavy point loads, long inland rail and road moves to Mundra Port, JNPT or Chennai, and a non-negotiable need for ISPM-15 compliance on anything going overseas. That puts plywood squarely in the bill of materials — not as a finish material but as a structural skin on engineered crates.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">What we ship</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">The four things we send into the Bhopal belt</h2><p>Most Bhopal-bound dispatches out of our Kochi works fall into four buckets. With 40+ years of group manufacturing behind the operation, that experience shows up most clearly in how the panels are pressed, edge-sealed and stacked for a roughly 1,800 km trip.</p><h3>Packing-grade plywood (MR-Packing)</h3><p>Our workhorse for crate skins. Hardwood core, phenolic glue line for moisture tolerance under tarpaulin, sanded both sides, and pressed to hold nailing in the 1.5 mm–2 mm shank range without splitting along the edge. Common Bhopal-bound thicknesses:</p><table><thead><tr><th>Thickness</th><th>Typical Bhopal use</th><th>Sheet sizes shipped</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>6 mm</td><td>Light crate tops, internal partitions, dunnage liners</td><td>8x4, 7x4</td></tr><tr><td>8–10 mm</td><td>Mid-weight crate sides for switchgear and auto components</td><td>8x4, 7x4, 6x4</td></tr><tr><td>12 mm</td><td>The default for Govindpura and Mandideep general engineering crates</td><td>8x4, 7x4, 6x4</td></tr><tr><td>15–16 mm</td><td>Heavy transformer side-panels, base sheathing</td><td>8x4 standard, cut to spec</td></tr><tr><td>18 mm</td><td>Bolted crate floors, container internal flooring, heavy-duty pallet decks</td><td>8x4, custom cuts</td></tr></tbody></table><h3>BWR-grade plywood with Okoume or Gurjan face</h3><p>For export-grade crates that sit on a deck during monsoon transhipment, or that need a cleaner finish for branded equipment, we offer the BWR grade with an Okoume or Gurjan veneer face. Okoume gives a light, uniform face that takes stencilling well; Gurjan gives a harder, denser face for repeated handling. Both are pressed on the same BWR glue line — the face veneer is the option, not a separate grade.</p><h3>Sawn timber for crate frames</h3><p>Mostly rubberwood and jackwood scantlings in the 50x50 mm, 75x50 mm and 100x75 mm sections that crate makers buy by the cubic foot. ISPM-15 heat-treated and stamped where the buyer needs export documentation. This is the framing inside which the plywood skins sit.</p><h3>Pallets and container flooring</h3><p>Four-way entry pallets in the standard 1200x1000 mm and 1200x800 mm footprints, plus custom decks for non-standard equipment bases. For container flooring on flat-rack or open-top moves out of the Mandideep ICD, 18 mm packing ply on hardwood bearers is the typical build.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Logistics</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">The Kochi-to-Bhopal lane</h2><p>The lane is roughly 1,750–1,850 km depending on the drop point inside the industrial belt, and we run it three ways depending on order size and urgency:</p><table><thead><tr><th>Mode</th><th>Best for</th><th>Transit</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Full-truck road (32-ft SXL or 22-ft container truck)</td><td>Orders of 18–28 tonnes; full 8x4 sheets loaded flat</td><td>5–7 days door-to-door</td></tr><tr><td>LCL / part-load (Ernakulam–Nagpur–Bhopal corridor)</td><td>Orders below ~10 tonnes; sample and trial lots</td><td>8–10 days</td></tr><tr><td>Containerised rail via Cochin Port / ICD Mandideep</td><td>Very large repeat orders; unloading inside the estate</td><td>Slower booking, lower per-tonne freight</td></tr></tbody></table><p>Full-truck road is the default: transit via NH-66 to Bengaluru, NH-44/NH-46 north through Hyderabad and Nagpur, and into Bhopal from the south. For very large repeat orders we move through ICD Mandideep on rail rakes — a slower booking cycle, but per-tonne freight drops meaningfully and unloading happens inside the industrial estate rather than at a city godown.</p><p>Freight is quoted FOR-Bhopal (or FOR-Mandideep / FOR-Govindpura) inclusive, with unloading separate. We pad the transit estimate with a one-day buffer for monsoon-season ghat closures on the Western Ghats stretch.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Choosing a grade</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Which grade for which Bhopal load</h2><p>A quick rule-of-thumb the procurement desks at the bigger Bhopal packing units already follow:</p><ul><li><strong>Pick MR-Packing grade</strong> when the crate is going on a covered truck, transhipped within India, and used once. This is around 70% of Govindpura and Mandideep volume — lower price, perfectly adequate moisture tolerance under a tarp.</li><li><strong>Pick BWR with an Okoume face</strong> when the crate is going overseas (typically through JNPT or Mundra Port), will sit on a port apron in monsoon, and needs to look presentable when the customer opens it. Heavy electricals from Piplani and graphite electrodes from Mandideep usually take this spec.</li><li><strong>Pick BWR with a Gurjan face</strong> when the crate will be reused or repeatedly handled — captive returnable packaging, defence sub-assembly cases, railway sub-assembly cradles.</li><li><strong>Pick shuttering ply</strong> if the buyer is a civil contractor at a new plant site, not a packing-case maker. We flag this distinction up front because the price points differ and the spec is film-faced, not packing-grade.</li></ul></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">FAQ</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Common questions from Bhopal buyers</h2><h3>Do you supply ISPM-15 stamped material direct, or only the plywood?</h3><p>Both. The plywood itself does not need ISPM-15 — it is an engineered product and exempt. The sawn-timber framing does, and we supply heat-treated and stamped scantlings on request, with the treatment certificate.</p><h3>What's the minimum order to make the Kochi–Bhopal lane economical?</h3><p>For full-truck road, around 18 tonnes of plywood (roughly one 32-ft truck densely loaded). Below that, part-load works, but freight per sheet goes up by 15–25%.</p><h3>Can you cut sheets to size at the Kochi end?</h3><p>Yes. For repeat sizes we cut to spec before loading — it saves wastage at the Bhopal end and lets a packing unit nail directly without a CNC setup. Charged at a flat per-cut rate, quoted with the PI.</p></div>

The city itself handles head offices, finance and distribution; the heavy work happens 25-30 km south-west at Pithampur, where auto and pharma plants run shift patterns that demand serious volumes of export-quality packing material. For us, Indore is a steady, technically demanding lane: orders skew toward heavy-engineering crates, pharma export cases that have to clear phytosanitary checks, and pallet stock for repeat use inside large plants. The demand profile breaks into a few clear segments, and each one drives slightly different plywood and crating choices.</p><h3>Pithampur auto and engineering belt</h3><p>Pithampur Industrial Area is split into Sector 1, Sector 2 and Sector 3, plus the newer SEZ phase. It hosts heavy-vehicle, tractor, off-highway and tier-one component plants — the kind of operations that crate transmission housings, axle assemblies, gearboxes and pressed-steel sub-assemblies for both domestic dispatch and CKD export. These loads are dense and sharp-cornered, so the crate has to be engineered around weight rather than volume: thicker bottoms, internal bracing, screwed-and-cleated panels rather than nailed corrugated.</p><h3>Pharma cluster (Pithampur and Sanwer Road)</h3><p>Indore's pharma footprint is large — formulations plants and API units around Pithampur and the Sanwer Road industrial belt — and almost every export carton eventually rides inside a wooden master crate or on a heat-treated pallet. ISPM-15 compliance is non-negotiable for those flows, so the wood has to come with traceable heat-treatment marks and the moisture content has to be controlled.</p><h3>Food, FMCG and SEZ flows</h3><p>The Crystal IT Park and the SEZ at Pithampur add a steady trickle of electronics, IT-hardware and processed-food export packing. These cartons want clean, splinter-free internal surfaces and lighter pallets — a slightly different spec sheet from the heavy-engineering side.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">What we ship</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">What goes onto trucks bound for the Indore-Pithampur belt</h2><p>The mix is fairly consistent. We supply finished wooden crates and pallets built to drawing, raw packing-grade plywood for buyers who run their own carpentry shops, container flooring sheets, and sawn-timber runners and battens where the customer wants to do their own assembly.</p><h3>Packing-grade plywood — sizes and thicknesses</h3><p>Our packing range is built around the standard 8 ft x 4 ft sheet, with the thicknesses Indore buyers ask for most often listed below. Rates are ex-factory Perumbavoor; GST and transport extra.</p><table><thead><tr><th>Thickness</th><th>Typical use in Indore loads</th><th>Ex-factory rate (₹/sq.ft)</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>6 mm</td><td>Light cartons, internal partitions, pharma master cases</td><td>24.00</td></tr><tr><td>8 mm</td><td>FMCG and electronics export crates</td><td>28.00</td></tr><tr><td>10 mm</td><td>Medium-weight component crates</td><td>31.50</td></tr><tr><td>12 mm</td><td>Auto-component crates, pallet decks</td><td>33.50</td></tr><tr><td>15 mm</td><td>Heavy-engineering crate panels</td><td>39.00</td></tr><tr><td>18 mm</td><td>Container flooring, heavy crate bottoms, machine bases</td><td>42.00</td></tr></tbody></table><h3>Crate construction</h3><p>For Pithampur-bound crates we typically build a hardwood frame of 50x50 mm or 75x75 mm runners, sheath the sides in 10-12 mm packing ply, and use 15-18 mm on the floor and load-bearing top. Corners are cleated and screwed. Where the cargo is export-bound, we use heat-treated timber stamped with the IPPC mark so the consignment clears phytosanitary checks at the destination port without delay.</p><h3>Pallets</h3><p>The two pallet footprints we run most often into the Indore belt are the Indian 1200 x 1000 mm and the Euro 1200 x 800 mm, both four-way entry. Deck boards are 12-15 mm packing ply or sawn jackwood; runners are 75 mm hardwood. Heat treatment is offered as a standard option.</p><h3>Container flooring</h3><p>Plants doing CKD or part-load exports out of Indore occasionally need replacement container-flooring sheets — typically 18 mm full sheets, hardwood face, sized to fit standard 20-ft and 40-ft container floor plans. We supply those in batches alongside the regular packing stock.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Logistics</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Kochi to Indore — the lane</h2><p>The straight-line road distance from our Perumbavoor base to Indore is roughly 1,700 km. Trucks typically run via Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Nagpur and then north-west through Khandwa into Indore, or alternatively up the west coast through Pune and Dhule. Either route is a 4-5 day transit for full truck loads, depending on the season and the driver pair.</p><p>For full-truck quantities the lane is competitive on road — we move 32-ft single-axle and multi-axle trailers carrying anywhere from 20 to 28 tonnes of finished crates or raw plywood per trip. For part loads, consolidating with other northbound cargo through the Bengaluru or Hyderabad hubs usually works out cheaper than booking a dedicated vehicle. Where the consignment is genuinely small, parcel-truck operators on the Kochi-Indore route quote per quintal and run weekly.</p><p>Lead time, door to door, is usually 5-7 days from PO confirmation for stocked specs and 10-12 days where the crates have to be built to drawing. For ISPM-15 export consignments, the IPPC-stamped heat-treatment certificate travels with the dispatch documents.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Choosing a grade</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Which grade for which Indore load</h2><h3>Our standard MR-Packing grade</h3><p>This is the right call for the bulk of Indore's auto-component and pharma export crating. It is a phenol-bonded packing-grade plywood with a hardwood core, dimensionally stable, and priced to take the abuse that crating timber sees in a working warehouse.</p><h3>Okoume face on packing or BWR</h3><p>Where the buyer wants a cleaner face — pharma exports going to GCC or European customers, or high-end machinery crates where appearance matters — we offer Okoume as a face-veneer option on the packing and BWR grades. It is not its own grade; it is a face choice. Pricing is on request because the veneer market moves.</p><h3>Shuttering ply</h3><p>For Indore buyers in the construction-formwork space — metro extensions, real-estate towers, infrastructure projects around the AB Road and the Super Corridor — we supply 12 mm film-faced shuttering ply rated for 8-10 pours. It is a different product line from packing ply and is quoted separately.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">FAQ</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Common questions on the Indore lane</h2><h3>Do you supply heat-treated pallets with IPPC marks?</h3><p>Yes. Heat treatment to ISPM-15 standard with the IPPC stamp is a standard option on both crates and pallets. The certificate accompanies the dispatch documents.</p><h3>What is the minimum order quantity for Indore?</h3><p>For raw packing-grade plywood, a single truckload (roughly 600-800 sheets depending on thickness) is the most economical unit. For finished crates and pallets we quote from 50 units upward, with sharper rates above 200.</p><h3>How are rates quoted?</h3><p>All rates are ex-factory Perumbavoor unless otherwise stated. GST and road freight to Indore are extra and shown as separate lines on the proforma so the buyer can see the breakdown clearly.</p></div>

It is a stone city, a paper city and a quiet engineering city all at once, and each of those industries ends at the same packaging question: where do we get reliable packing-grade plywood, crates and pallets without the lead time killing the shipment. Gwalior is the administrative and logistics anchor for a roughly 50 km industrial corridor that runs north toward Malanpur and south toward Dabra, and the packaging demand splits into three very different buyer profiles, each with its own crate logic.</p><h3>Malanpur industrial area (AKVN / MPIDC)</h3><p>Malanpur, about 40 km north of Gwalior on NH-44, is the largest organised manufacturing belt in the region. The estate hosts FMCG, food processing, dairy, glass containers, auto-ancillary fabrication and a cluster of engineering units. The plywood flow into Malanpur is mostly export crates for engineering goods, heat-treated pallets to ISPM-15 spec for outbound containers, and bulk-form packing ply for in-house carpentry shops that build their own one-off crates.</p><h3>Stone belt — Bilaua, Mehgaon, Karahiya</h3><p>The Bilaua–Karahiya sandstone belt south-east of Gwalior is one of India's larger dimensional-stone clusters, feeding both domestic infrastructure and export markets in the GCC, EU and US. Stone exporters need very specific crate construction: heavy-duty wooden bases, vertical bracing and packing-ply skins that survive a 30 to 40 day sea voyage with a dense, brittle load that shifts hard if the crate flexes. Mistakes here are expensive; a cracked slab is a write-off.</p><h3>Paper roll and converter cluster</h3><p>Paper roll packaging, both for the regional mill ecosystem and for the secondary converter and printer cluster around Gwalior, needs wide, flat plywood sheets for end-caps on jumbo reels and for laminated roll cradles on truck beds. Specs here are tighter than crate work: end-caps must sit flush against the reel face without warping, which rules out lower-density commercial plywood.</p><h3>Handloom and Chanderi adjacency</h3><p>The Gwalior division also acts as a forwarding hub for Chanderi and Maheshwar handloom exports. Volumes are smaller, but premium textile shippers ask for clean, sanded, non-staining packing ply for inner cases, a useful niche where our Okoume-faced packing grade earns its premium.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">What we ship</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Four product groups built for Gwalior's three buyer profiles</h2><p>Most loads heading to Gwalior from our Kochi yard fall into one of four product groups. The table below summarises the typical specs and use-cases.</p><table><thead><tr><th>Product</th><th>Typical spec</th><th>Best use in Gwalior</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Packing-grade plywood (MR / commercial)</td><td>6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 mm; 8x4 ft sheets; hardwood/rubberwood core</td><td>Stone crate skins, in-house carpentry feed, general export crating at Malanpur</td></tr><tr><td>Okoume-faced packing ply</td><td>9–18 mm; light, uniform face, clean grain</td><td>Premium engineering exports, FMCG display crates, textile inner cases</td></tr><tr><td>BWR / shuttering plywood</td><td>12–18 mm; phenolic film face; reusable</td><td>Concrete formwork on Gwalior smart-city and Malanpur civil works</td></tr><tr><td>Pre-built crates, pallets, container flooring</td><td>Built to drawing; ISPM-15 HT stamp on request</td><td>Stone exporters, engineering exporters, container line repairs</td></tr></tbody></table><h3>Crate construction we manufacture</h3><p>For stone exporters we build crates with full-thickness 18 mm packing-ply skins on hardwood frames, with diagonal bracing inside; for engineering goods we use a lighter 12 mm or 14 mm skin with a four-way entry pallet base. Pallet sizes are typically 1200 x 800 mm (Euro), 1200 x 1000 mm (standard) or made to order for container optimisation. Container flooring goes out as 28 mm phenolic-bonded panels in 2440 x 1220 mm sheets for ISO container repair shops. Okoume is a face-veneer option on our packing and BWR grades, not a separate product, so you can specify it wherever a clean, uniform face matters.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Logistics</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">The Kochi to Gwalior lane</h2><p>The Kochi–Gwalior road lane is roughly 2,000 km. Truck transit is typically 5 to 7 days door-to-door depending on whether you take a single full-truck-load (FTL) or share space on a part-load. Most of our Gwalior dispatches move FTL on 32-ft single-axle or multi-axle trailers, routed Kochi → Bengaluru → Hyderabad → Nagpur → Bhopal → Gwalior, taking NH-44 for the northern stretch. A 32-ft trailer carries roughly 18 to 22 tonnes of packing plywood depending on thickness mix, enough for a meaningful month's stock for a mid-size stone exporter or a Malanpur engineering shop.</p><p>For very large planned dispatches we sometimes route via rail or via a coastal-then-road combination through a west-coast port, but for most Gwalior customers the direct road FTL out of Kochi is the simplest and most predictable option. We quote ex-factory Kochi and ex-Gwalior delivered, so you can compare against your local options on a like-for-like basis.</p><h3>ISPM-15 and the export crate question</h3><p>Anything leaving India in a sealed container with wood packaging needs ISPM-15 heat treatment with the IPPC stamp. We can supply pre-treated and stamped crates and pallets ex-Kochi, or supply the raw packing ply and let your local crate builder in Malanpur handle assembly and HT treatment locally, whichever maths is better for your lane.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Choosing a grade</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Which product, when</h2><p>A few rules of thumb we share with first-time Gwalior buyers:</p><ul><li><strong>Stone crate skins, domestic moves:</strong> 12–14 mm commercial packing ply. Cost-controlled, holds up well on short and medium hauls.</li><li><strong>Stone export crates, sea freight:</strong> 16–18 mm packing-ply skins, full hardwood frame, ISPM-15 stamped. Do not under-spec the skin; slab cracks cost ten times the saving.</li><li><strong>Engineering export crates from Malanpur:</strong> 12 mm Okoume-faced ply if the buyer cares about appearance; 12 mm commercial packing ply if not.</li><li><strong>Paper reel end-caps:</strong> 18 mm flat, low-warp packing ply, or Okoume-faced for the cleanest face.</li><li><strong>Civil and infra formwork (smart city, road overbridges):</strong> 12 or 18 mm phenolic-film BWR shuttering ply. Reusable for 20-plus pours when handled properly.</li><li><strong>Textile inner cases:</strong> Okoume-faced, non-staining, sanded; a small premium worth paying.</li></ul></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">FAQ</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Gwalior buyer questions</h2><h3>Do you sell through Gwalior dealers or only direct?</h3><p>Both. We supply direct ex-Kochi to industrial buyers in the Gwalior, Malanpur and Bilaua belts, and we also work with stockists in Madhya Pradesh who carry our packing range. For a one-off crate run, direct usually makes sense; for ongoing buffer stock, a local dealer relationship is often easier.</p><h3>What is the minimum order size you'll send to Gwalior?</h3><p>For ex-Kochi dispatch the economics start to work above roughly 400 to 500 sheets, a comfortable FTL share. Below that we either consolidate with another Gwalior-bound load or quote part-load via a transport aggregator. Both work, but FTL is the cleanest.</p><h3>Can you supply ISPM-15 stamped crates directly?</h3><p>Yes. We can supply heat-treated, IPPC-stamped crates and pallets built to your drawing, dispatched ready to use. Alternatively we supply the raw packing ply and your local crate builder handles assembly and the HT stamp in Gwalior. We are happy to quote both options so you can compare.</p></div>
