Every drum, every reactor part, every vial-filled carton that leaves these plants needs a wooden case or pallet underneath it. That is the demand we ship into from Kochi. It is one of the few Indian cities where you can drive twenty kilometres in three directions and hit three completely different export profiles, and the packing requirements look quite different in each one.</p><h3>Petrochemicals and chemicals</h3><p>The Koyali refinery belt and the chemical units around Nandesari GIDC, Ranoli and Dumad generate steady demand for heavy-duty drum packing, skid bases for pumps and valves, and protective crates for catalyst and resin shipments. Drum collars, four-way pallets rated for 1,000 to 1,500 kg, and plywood-walled cases for dangerous-goods consignments are the typical asks.</p><h3>Pharma and fine chemicals</h3><p>The Halol GIDC corridor and the Savli industrial area host a dense pharma cluster covering APIs, formulations and intermediates. Pharma export crates need to be clean, consistent in dimension and dependably stamped, because the cargo inside is high-value and temperature-sensitive. Repeat tenders for monthly export shipments through Mundra and JNPT are common from this belt.</p><h3>Automotive and heavy engineering</h3><p>Waghodia GIDC, Manjusar GIDC and the units along the Vadodara-Halol highway handle machined components, hydraulic assemblies and earth-moving spares. Loads run heavy and odd-shaped, so the packing usually means thicker plywood walls, internal bracing and custom skid bases rather than off-the-shelf box sizes.</p><h3>Other estates worth naming</h3><ul><li><strong>Makarpura GIDC</strong> — mixed engineering and ancillary units, regular flow of medium-weight crates.</li><li><strong>Por-Ramangamdi</strong> — chemical and process units.</li><li><strong>GIDC Vadodara (Gorwa)</strong> — older estate with mixed manufacturing.</li><li><strong>Padra and Jambusar belt</strong> — petrochem expansion zone, growing pallet demand.</li></ul></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">What we ship</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Sheets, cases, pallets and container flooring</h2><p>The packing-grade range is what we move the most of into Gujarat. Here is what typically goes onto a truck heading north.</p><h3>Packing-grade plywood sheets</h3><p>Our MR-Packing grade comes in thicknesses from 6 mm up to 18 mm in standard 8x4 sheets. Buyers in Vadodara usually want a working mix:</p><table><thead><tr><th>Thickness</th><th>Typical use in Vadodara loads</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>6 mm and 8 mm</td><td>Top and bottom panels of light pharma crates, internal partitions.</td></tr><tr><td>10 mm to 12 mm</td><td>Side walls of mid-weight export cases, drum collars.</td></tr><tr><td>15 mm to 18 mm</td><td>Base panels under heavy machinery, container flooring patches, skid construction.</td></tr></tbody></table><p>The face veneer can be specified as commercial hardwood, rubberwood, or Okoume on the BWR variants where appearance and moisture tolerance matter for longer sea legs.</p><h3>Finished crates and cases</h3><p>For buyers who do not want to fabricate in-house, we build ready-to-pack wooden cases to ISPM-15 specification with the heat-treatment stamp. Standard footprints we make routinely: 1200x800 mm, 1200x1000 mm, and custom drum-cluster crates for petrochem shipments. Internal cleating and corner bracing are added on the bill of materials when the cargo asks for it.</p><h3>Pallets</h3><p>Four-way entry pallets in standard EUR (1200x800 mm) and ISO (1200x1000 mm) sizes, plus custom footprints for specific machine bases. Load ratings up to 1,500 kg static for the heavy-engineering work that comes out of Waghodia and Manjusar.</p><h3>Container flooring</h3><p>For exporters consolidating their own containers at the factory, we supply 28 mm container flooring plywood — apitong-equivalent hardwood-face panels in the standard 2400x1160 mm size. Useful for refurbishing older containers or stuffing one-trip shipments where the existing floor is suspect.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Logistics</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Kochi to Vadodara: routes and transit</h2><p>The road distance from our Perumbavoor dispatch yards to Vadodara is roughly 1,750 km. Three routes work, and we pick based on load size and timing.</p><table><thead><tr><th>Route</th><th>Transit time</th><th>Best for</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Direct trucking via Bengaluru-Pune-Mumbai-Vadodara (NH-48 corridor)</td><td>5 to 7 days</td><td>Full-truck loads of sheets, crates, or pallets going direct to a factory gate</td></tr><tr><td>Coastal shipping Cochin Port to Mundra, then road to Vadodara</td><td>10 to 14 days</td><td>Large repeating orders where ex-works price matters more than urgency</td></tr><tr><td>Rail rake to Vadodara via container terminal</td><td>7 to 10 days</td><td>Mixed loads consolidated with other Gujarat-bound material</td></tr></tbody></table><p>A 32-foot single-axle truck out of Perumbavoor carries roughly 14 to 16 tonnes of plywood, which works out to around 350 to 400 sheets of 18 mm or proportionally more of thinner stock. For pharma buyers who run monthly shipments, a planned dispatch schedule keeps freight per sheet predictable and avoids spot-rate volatility. All export crates carry the ISPM-15 heat-treatment stamp from an approved facility, and the compliance certificate travels with the dispatch documents.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Choosing a grade</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Which grade for which Vadodara load</h2><h3>Use MR-Packing grade when</h3><ul><li>The crate is going by road or short sea route to a domestic or GCC destination.</li><li>Cargo weight is under 2 tonnes per case.</li><li>The receiver does not require a hardwood-face cosmetic finish.</li></ul><h3>Use Okoume-faced BWR when</h3><ul><li>The shipment is going by sea to Europe, the US, or longer routes via Mundra.</li><li>The cargo is pharma export or high-value chemical product where the receiving auditor scrutinises packing material.</li><li>Multiple humidity cycles are expected in transit.</li></ul><h3>Use shuttering ply when</h3><ul><li>The buyer is on the construction side — civil contractors building new factory blocks in Halol or Savli often pull shuttering ply alongside packing material on the same truck.</li><li>The application is concrete formwork rather than packing.</li></ul><p>Okoume is a face-veneer option on the packing and BWR grades, not a separate grade — specify it where appearance and moisture tolerance justify the premium.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">FAQ</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Common questions from Vadodara buyers</h2><h3>Do you supply ISPM-15 heat-treated crates for export shipments out of Mundra and JNPT?</h3><p>Yes. All export crates carry the ISPM-15 heat-treatment stamp from an approved facility. The compliance certificate travels with the dispatch documents so the freight forwarder can clear customs without delays.</p><h3>What is the minimum order quantity for a direct dispatch to Vadodara?</h3><p>For sheets, we prefer to load a full truck (14 to 16 tonnes) because part-load freight from Kerala to Gujarat eats into the unit economics. For finished crates and pallets, the minimum depends on the spec — small batches of custom crates can ride with a sheet load to the same destination.</p><h3>How are prices quoted — delivered Vadodara or ex-Perumbavoor?</h3><p>Both, depending on what the buyer prefers. On one shift, a packer in Sachin is building a crate for a synthetic-fabric loom heading to Africa. On the next, a fabricator in Hazira is bracing a 12-tonne pressure vessel for ocean freight out of Hazira Port. A few kilometres away, a textile-machinery exporter in Pandesara needs pallets stacked four-high inside a 40-foot container. Three large clusters drive packing-plywood consumption, and each one buys a slightly different specification.</p><h3>Hazira industrial area</h3><p>Hazira is the heavy end of the city. Large petrochemical, heavy-engineering, steel and oil-and-gas plants run along the Hazira coast, and the supporting ecosystem of fabricators, valve makers, structural shops and shipyard contractors is where most of Surat's export-crate volume originates. Loads here are heavy and dimensionally awkward, including reactors, heat exchangers, distillation columns, large skid packages and drilling equipment. Plywood for this segment has to take fastener pull-out, survive monsoon staging at the port, and not delaminate when the crate is repositioned three or four times before stuffing.</p><h3>Sachin and Pandesara GIDC</h3><p>South of the city, the Sachin and Pandesara GIDC estates are dominated by synthetic textile mills, dyeing and processing units, and the textile-machinery and chemical units that supply them. Crating here is lighter in mass but high in count, covering loom parts, jacquard heads, rapier assemblies and spare modules. The buyers want consistent thickness and clean edges because crates are stacked and rolled inside the container.</p><h3>The diamond belt — Mahidharpura, Varachha, Katargam, SDB</h3><p>Surat polishes roughly 90% of the world's diamonds, and the cluster around Mahidharpura, Varachha, Katargam and the Surat Diamond Bourse runs a parallel demand for cleanroom-grade pallets, machinery crates for laser cutters and planning equipment, and secure containerised flooring for high-value transit. Volumes per crate are small, but specification discipline is tight.</p><h3>Hazira Port and the export gateway</h3><p>The terminals along the Hazira coast handle a meaningful share of western India's project cargo and break-bulk. Anything moving through these gates touches a wooden crate, a pallet, or a piece of dunnage at some point. That is where most of our Surat freight ends up.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">What we ship</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Three product families, plus sawn timber for in-house runners</h2><p>We manufacture three product families for the city, plus sawn timber where the fabricator wants to build runners and skids in-house.</p><h3>Packing-grade plywood</h3><p>This is the workhorse for Sachin, Pandesara and the lighter Hazira loads. We make it across the standard range on 8x4 sheets, with rubberwood and commercial hardwood cores. Density and glue line are tuned for crate building: the sheet has to hold a 50mm nail without splitting, take a screw at the edge, and survive a Mumbai monsoon transit without the face veneer lifting.</p><table><thead><tr><th>Thickness</th><th>Sheet size</th><th>Typical use</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>6 – 8mm</td><td>8x4</td><td>Light box panels, internal partitions</td></tr><tr><td>10 – 12mm</td><td>8x4</td><td>Textile-machinery and diamond-belt crate walls</td></tr><tr><td>14 – 16mm</td><td>8x4</td><td>Heavier case walls and bracing</td></tr><tr><td>18mm</td><td>8x4</td><td>Structural decks, container flooring, cases above 5 tonnes</td></tr></tbody></table><h3>Okoume-faced plywood</h3><p>Okoume is a face-veneer option on our packing and BWR grades, and it earns its place on the high-end Surat loads, including pharmaceutical machinery from the chemical-zone clients, precision textile heads, and any consignment where the crate itself will be photographed for the consignee. The face is smooth enough to stencil cleanly, and it ages better in tropical port staging than commercial faces.</p><h3>Crates and packing cases</h3><p>For fabricators who would rather buy a finished crate than build one, we manufacture knock-down and assembled cases sized to the load. Typical Surat sizes start at 1200x800 for textile-machinery sub-assemblies and run to custom 6000x2400 cases for Hazira project cargo. Sawn-timber runners, jackwood for the heavier loads and rubberwood for the lighter, are dimensioned to the truck and the container floor.</p><h3>Pallets and container flooring</h3><p>Standard four-way entry pallets at 1200x1000 and 1100x1100 are the default for textile machinery and diamond-belt transit. For project cargo through Hazira Port, we ship 18mm packing-grade sheets cut to container-floor dimensions for one-trip dunnage, a common spec for skids that need to slide cleanly during stuffing.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Logistics</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Kochi to Surat in 4 to 5 days</h2><p>Surat sits about 1,700 km from Kochi by road via Mumbai, and the trucking lane is one of the better-developed corridors on the west coast. A 32-foot single-axle covered truck typically clears Kochi to Surat in 4 to 5 days door-to-door, depending on the Mumbai bypass and the monsoon. A 22-foot truck moves faster on smaller orders. For larger, recurring volumes such as full-container parcels destined for re-export, we also route via Cochin Port and the Mundra/Hazira coastal shipping leg, which can be more economical for 20-tonne-plus consignments and removes road handling.</p><table><thead><tr><th>Route</th><th>Mode</th><th>Typical transit</th><th>Best for</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Kochi – Surat direct</td><td>32-ft road truck</td><td>4 – 5 days</td><td>Full truck, single drop</td></tr><tr><td>Kochi – Mumbai – Surat</td><td>22-ft / part-load</td><td>5 – 7 days</td><td>Smaller orders, multi-drop</td></tr><tr><td>Cochin Port – Hazira Port</td><td>Coastal shipping</td><td>7 – 10 days</td><td>Heavy recurring volumes</td></tr></tbody></table><p>For export through Hazira Port, pallets and crates can be heat-treated and ISPM-15 stamped at our packing partners; we need the consignee country and dimensions at the quotation stage so the stamp is valid for the destination. All rates we quote are ex-factory; GST and transport are billed separately so the buyer keeps visibility on the freight line.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Choosing a grade</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Which grade for which Surat load</h2><p>The choice between packing grade, Okoume-faced and shuttering ply is a question of load weight, journey length and what the crate is signalling to the consignee.</p><ul><li><strong>Packing grade, commercial face, 8 – 12mm</strong> — default for Sachin and Pandesara textile-machinery crates, diamond-belt machinery transit, and any sub-3-tonne load with a short ocean leg.</li><li><strong>Packing grade, 15 – 18mm</strong> — Hazira project cargo, heavy fabrication, anything that needs a structural deck or container floor. 18mm is the workhorse for cases above 5 tonnes.</li><li><strong>Okoume-faced</strong> — pharmaceutical and precision-machinery exports from the chemical zone, premium textile heads, anything where the crate face will be inspected at destination.</li><li><strong>Shuttering ply</strong> — not a crating product. We supply it to Surat construction projects where the customer also runs a packing line and wants one vendor for both.</li></ul><p>For most first-time Surat buyers, we recommend starting with a trial truck of 12mm and 18mm packing grade and adjusting from there once your line foreman sees how it nails and edges.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">FAQ</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Common questions from Surat buyers</h2><h3>What is the minimum order you ship to Surat?</h3><p>We prefer full-truck loads, since a 32-foot truck holds roughly 28 to 30 tonnes of mixed plywood and the freight economics are clean. For trial orders and smaller buyers, we consolidate with other Gujarat parcels on a 22-foot truck. Single-pallet orders are not our model.</p><h3>Can you supply ISPM-15 stamped pallets and crates?</h3><p>Yes. Pallets and crates for export through Hazira Port can be heat-treated and ISPM-15 stamped at our packing partners. We need the consignee country and dimensions at the quotation stage so the stamp is valid for the destination.</p><h3>How do you handle thickness tolerance for fabricators who CNC-cut their crates?</h3><p>Our packing grade is dimensioned at face value above 12mm and the trade-standard "11+" and "17+" tolerance below. Fabricators in Pandesara who run CNC nesting lines usually ask for a fixed-thickness batch. We accommodate that on order sizes of one truck or more, and it gets noted on the PI.</p></div>

When a CNC lathe bed, a ductile-iron casting, a forged crankshaft or a pump housing leaves a Rajkot shopfloor for a buyer in Germany, the United States, Vietnam or the GCC, it does not travel naked. It travels inside a wooden crate or strapped to a pallet, and the panel that holds that crate together is packing-grade plywood. With more than 10,000 engineering MSMEs concentrated in and around the city, Rajkot generates one of the densest concentrations of export-crate demand anywhere in western India.</p><p>The manufacturing footprint is spread across several well-defined GIDC estates, each with its own packaging rhythm. Knowing the geography matters, because it shapes truck routing, unloading windows and the kind of crate spec a buyer typically asks for.</p><h3>Aji GIDC</h3><p>The oldest and densest of the Rajkot estates, Aji GIDC houses a heavy mix of foundries, machine shops and auto-component units. Castings shipped out of Aji tend to be irregular and dense, which pushes buyers toward heavier panel thickness, typically 12 mm and 18 mm, with reinforced corner blocks.</p><h3>Lodhika GIDC (Metoda)</h3><p>Lodhika, on the Rajkot-Jamnagar highway, is the largest estate by area and houses larger forging units, CNC builders and pump manufacturers. Crate orders from Lodhika frequently call for ISPM-15 stencilled material because the goods are export-bound to Europe, the United States and ASEAN.</p><h3>Shapar-Veraval belt</h3><p>Shapar-Veraval is the machine-tool and submersible-pump cluster on the Rajkot-Ahmedabad corridor. The work that leaves Shapar is often containerised, which is where 12 mm and 18 mm container-flooring panels and full crate kits come into the picture.</p><h3>Bhavnagar Road and the smaller clusters</h3><p>The Bhavnagar Road belt and adjacent smaller estates handle a long tail of bearing, fastener, valve and brassware units. Volumes per unit are smaller, but the cumulative pallet and small-crate demand is significant and recurring.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">What we ship</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Four product lines for the Rajkot engineering belt</h2><p>We supply the Rajkot belt with four overlapping product lines. All material is manufactured to CWI specifications across our facilities, and our group's manufacturing operation has run out of Perumbavoor in Kerala for forty years.</p><h3>Packing-grade plywood (the workhorse)</h3><p>Our core line for Rajkot is hardwood packing-grade plywood in BWR-bonded construction. Standard offer:</p><table><thead><tr><th>Thickness</th><th>Typical use in Rajkot</th><th>Standard size</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>6 mm</td><td>Side panels for light crates, separators, inner partitions</td><td>8x4 ft</td></tr><tr><td>8 mm</td><td>Lids, inner ribs, light pallet decks</td><td>8x4 ft</td></tr><tr><td>12 mm</td><td>Crate walls for castings and machined parts</td><td>8x4 ft</td></tr><tr><td>16 mm / 18 mm</td><td>Heavy crate bases, forging crates, container flooring</td><td>8x4 ft</td></tr></tbody></table><p>Standard 8x4 ft sheets ship most commonly. We cut to size on request when a Rajkot buyer is running a repeating crate spec and wants to skip the in-house cross-cut step. An Okoume face veneer is available as an option on the packing and BWR grades where a finer surface is required.</p><h3>Export crates and case material</h3><p>For machine-tool and large-casting exporters, we supply pre-fitted crate kits or panel sets dimensioned to the customer's part envelope. Typical construction is a hardwood frame with a packing-grade ply skin, 12 mm or 18 mm depending on gross weight and stacking load. ISPM-15 heat-treated timber is available for any consignment routed through ICDs to overseas ports.</p><h3>Wooden pallets</h3><p>Two-way and four-way pallets in standard 1200x1000 mm and 1200x800 mm footprints are common for Rajkot's pump, valve and casting exports. Custom footprints for irregular machine bases are quoted on drawing.</p><h3>Container flooring</h3><p>For exporters loading 20-ft and 40-ft containers ex-Mundra or Pipavav, we supply 12 mm and 18 mm packing-grade ply as floor-layout panels and load-spreaders under heavy castings and machine assemblies.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Logistics</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">The Kochi to Rajkot lane</h2><p>The road distance from our Kochi/Ernakulam dispatch hub to Rajkot is approximately 1,850 km. Transit by full truck load typically runs five to seven days, depending on monsoon conditions and the specific drop point inside the GIDC network. Most of our Rajkot volume moves by direct FTL on the Kochi - Bengaluru - Hubballi - Pune - Ahmedabad - Rajkot corridor, with the final leg routing into Aji, Lodhika, Shapar or the Bhavnagar Road belt as needed.</p><p>For coastal economics on larger orders, an alternative is rail-container or coastal-shipping movement from Kochi or Tuticorin to Mundra or Pipavav, with a short road leg of 250-350 km into Rajkot. This route gets economically interesting for orders above a couple of truck loads, and where the buyer can absorb a slightly longer transit in exchange for lower per-sheet freight. We work out the trade-off at quote stage based on the consignment size and the customer's preferred port.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Choosing a grade</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Which grade fits which Rajkot load</h2><p>Rajkot's load mix is varied, so the right material is not always the same. A simple rule of thumb:</p><ul><li><strong>Packing-grade BWR ply</strong> is the right answer for most casting, forging and machine-component crates leaving Rajkot. The bond is moisture-resistant enough to handle a monsoon sea passage, and the cost-per-crate is right for export packaging that is consumed once.</li><li><strong>Okoume-faced plywood</strong> makes sense when the end-buyer is in Europe or the United States and the crate is part of the brand presentation, or when the consignment is high-value machine tools where surface finish and grain matter. Okoume is also lighter, which helps on chargeable-weight-sensitive export lanes. It is a face-veneer option on the packing and BWR grades, not a separate grade.</li><li><strong>Shuttering ply</strong> is a separate conversation. Rajkot's construction activity around Kalavad Road, the 150 Ft Ring Road and the upcoming AIIMS-Rajkot corridor drives steady film-faced shuttering demand. This is not export packaging material and should not be substituted for crate-grade.</li></ul><p>Our practical advice to first-time Rajkot buyers: start with a small mixed trial, one or two pallets of 12 mm and 18 mm packing-grade in standard 8x4 ft, confirm the panel performs across your typical crate spec, then move to a recurring monthly indent.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">FAQ</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Questions from Rajkot buyers</h2><h3>Do you supply ISPM-15 compliant crate material?</h3><p>Yes. Heat-treated, ISPM-15 stencilled timber components are available for any export crate destined for an overseas buyer. Specify it on the enquiry so we route the order through the certified line.</p><h3>What is the minimum order quantity for an FTL into Rajkot?</h3><p>A full 20-tonne truck typically carries 12-15 m3 of plywood, depending on thickness mix. For smaller indents below FTL, we consolidate with other Gujarat-bound consignments, which adds a few days of dispatch wait but keeps freight workable.</p><h3>Can you cut to size for a repeating crate spec?</h3><p>Yes. Once you share the cutting list and confirm the spec is recurring, we cut at the dispatch end and ship as a bundled kit. This saves cross-cut waste and shopfloor time at the Rajkot end.</p></div>

In one district you have the world's largest brass parts cluster shipping small, dense, high-value components in plywood-lined cartons; a major coastal oil refinery at Motikhavdi crating spares and heavy equipment; and Sikka Port handling project cargo that needs fumigated wooden cases. Three different load profiles, three different plywood specs, one freight lane down from Kerala.</p><p>The brass cluster is the loudest signal. Jamnagar accounts for the dominant share of India's brass parts exports, and most of that output moves through micro and small units concentrated in <strong>GIDC Phase I, Phase II and Phase III</strong> at Shankar Tekri, plus the older Dared and Hapa belts. These are cable glands, sanitary fittings, automotive terminals, valve bodies and electrical accessories — small components, but every kilogram has real value, and every consignment for Europe, the Gulf or North America needs to be palletised, sometimes crated, and almost always export-compliant.</p><p>Around that brass core sit several other plywood buyers:</p><ul><li><strong>The Motikhavdi refinery belt and the Moti Khavdi SEZ</strong> — process equipment, instrumentation spares, catalyst drums and project cargo. Crates here tend to be heavy, often custom-built, occasionally tropicalised.</li><li><strong>Sikka Port and Bedi Port</strong> — bulk and project cargo, with refinery-linked outbound steel structures, vessels and pipes that need timber dunnage and crating.</li><li><strong>Bandhani textile and food-processing units</strong> around Khambhalia Road — lighter crating and more pallet work.</li><li><strong>Dhrol and Jamnagar GIDC engineering shops</strong> — CNC components, pump castings and valves bound for buyers across India and the Gulf.</li></ul><p>Each segment buys plywood differently. The brass exporter wants a clean 8 mm or 10 mm sheet that crates a 25 kg carton without splitting at the staple line. The refinery contractor wants 18 mm BWR for crates that may sit on a project site through a monsoon. The pallet maker wants consistent thickness and weight so loaded pallets stack predictably in a container.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">What we ship</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Packing-grade ply, crates, pallets and container flooring</h2><h3>Packing-grade plywood</h3><p>This is the workhorse. We manufacture commercial and rubberwood-core packing-grade ply at our Perumbavoor operation, ex-factory, in the thicknesses Jamnagar actually orders.</p><table><thead><tr><th>Thickness</th><th>Typical use in Jamnagar</th><th>Indicative ex-factory rate (per sq.ft)</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>6 mm</td><td>Light brass-part carton liners, top/bottom caps</td><td>Rs 24</td></tr><tr><td>8 mm</td><td>Standard brass component cases, lid panels</td><td>Rs 28</td></tr><tr><td>10 mm</td><td>Medium engineering crates, pallet deck boards</td><td>Rs 31.5</td></tr><tr><td>12 mm</td><td>Heavy crate sides, valve and pump cases</td><td>Rs 33.5</td></tr><tr><td>18 mm</td><td>Refinery equipment crates, container flooring, runners</td><td>Rs 42</td></tr></tbody></table><p>Rates are ex-factory; GST and transport are extra. The base rule is purchase rate plus Rs 2.50 per sq.ft on this packing range — kept deliberately simple so a buyer can sanity-check a quote against their carpentry costing in one minute.</p><h3>Crate construction</h3><p>For Jamnagar's heavier outbound — refinery spares, large brass valve bodies, finished pump assemblies — we supply timber and plywood pre-cut to the customer's crate drawing, or we ship the materials and let the buyer's carpentry shop build to specification for consignments bound for export through Mundra or Pipavav. Typical crate skin is 12 mm or 18 mm packing-grade ply over a hardwood framework, with jackwood or rubberwood runners.</p><h3>Pallets</h3><p>For Jamnagar pallet makers and for in-house refinery and SEZ pallet replacements, we supply the deck plywood (10 mm and 12 mm) plus sawn runners. Common footprints are the standard 1200 x 1000 mm export pallet, the 1100 x 1100 mm GCC pallet (heavily used for shipments out of Sikka to UAE and Saudi), and the 1200 x 800 mm euro pallet for European brass buyers.</p><h3>Container flooring</h3><p>For container repair shops working near Sikka and along the Mundra feeder lane, we supply 18 mm hardwood plywood as flooring replacement stock. Not the headline volume, but a steady ancillary line that often pairs with the same lorry as a packing-ply order.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Logistics</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">The Kochi-to-Jamnagar lane</h2><p>The road distance from Perumbavoor to Jamnagar is roughly <strong>2000 km</strong>, typically routed Salem - Bengaluru - Hubballi - Pune - Surat - Rajkot - Jamnagar, or via the Konkan corridor depending on the operator. A full-truck 32-foot multi-axle load lands in <strong>five to seven days</strong> door-to-door once it leaves our dispatch yard, assuming no monsoon disruption on the Western Ghats.</p><p>A few practical notes from running this lane:</p><ul><li>A 32-foot SXL carrying around 9.5 tonnes of packing ply is the sweet spot. Below that, per-sheet freight gets ugly.</li><li>For partial loads we consolidate with other Gujarat-bound consignments out of Kochi — adds two to three days but cuts freight cost meaningfully for first-time Jamnagar buyers.</li><li>Coastal break-bulk via Cochin Port to Pipavav is an option for very large project orders, but the road lane is usually faster and cheaper for the 5 to 15 tonne consignments Jamnagar typically orders.</li><li>Delivery is normally to the buyer's godown in Shankar Tekri, Dared or the GIDC plots; refinery-bound material goes to the contractor's yard, not direct to the refinery gate.</li><li>For export consignments out of Mundra or Pipavav, ISPM-15 stamping and fumigation are handled at the buyer's carpentry shop by a certified fumigator — we supply specs and timber that suit that compliance.</li></ul></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Choosing a grade</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Which grade for which Jamnagar load</h2><p>Three decision rules that have held up across this freight lane:</p><ol><li><strong>Packing-grade commercial or rubberwood ply</strong> — the default for brass carton work, pallet decks, and any crate that ships and then gets discarded. Cost-efficient, predictable, calibrated for one-trip packaging.</li><li><strong>Okoume-faced plywood</strong> — Okoume is a premium face-veneer option on our packing and BWR grades, quoted on request. Worth specifying when the buyer wants a cleaner face for export crates that sit on a customer's receiving dock and represent the brand, or for premium GCC-bound consignments. Priced separately from the packing card.</li><li><strong>Shuttering ply</strong> — for the construction side of Jamnagar's expansion (warehousing in GIDC, civil works at the SEZ). Different spec, different conversation, but on the same truck if the buyer is mixed-segment.</li></ol></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">FAQ</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Jamnagar buyer questions</h2><h3>Do you supply ISPM-15 fumigated crates direct?</h3><p>We supply the plywood and timber. ISPM-15 stamping is done by the buyer's carpentry shop with a certified fumigator, which is standard practice across Gujarat's export belt. We can recommend specs that suit ISPM-15 compliance.</p><h3>What is your minimum order to Jamnagar?</h3><p>For a dedicated truck, one full 32-foot load. For consolidated freight, we work down to roughly 2.5 to 3 tonnes — useful for first orders or trial batches before a buyer commits to a full truckload.</p><h3>How long has the group been doing this?</h3><p>Our group has manufactured plywood and timber in Perumbavoor since 1986, more than four decades. CWI Pvt Ltd is the corporate vehicle through which we run the modern packing and Okoume business, including the Gujarat lane.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Get a quote</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Send your spec, get a usable number</h2><p>Whether you are sourcing for a brass exporter in GIDC, a pallet shop near Khambhalia Road, a refinery contractor in Motikhavdi, or a port-side crating yard at Sikka, the fastest way to a usable number is to send thickness, sheet size, monthly quantity and delivery pin code. On one side of the district is Alang — the world's largest ship-recycling belt — where steel, machinery and salvaged equipment are cut down, sorted and trucked out for re-sale or export. On the other side are GIDC plastic, brass and engineering estates feeding containers into Pipavav and Mundra. Both streams need the same thing: timber-based packaging that survives long road hauls, marine humidity and rough mechanical handling. Bhavnagar is not a single-cluster city — three distinct demand pools sit inside a 50 km radius, and each one buys plywood for very different reasons.</p><h3>Alang-Sosiya ship-recycling yard</h3><p>The Alang-Sosiya belt stretches roughly 10 km along the Gulf of Khambhat and processes a large share of the world's end-of-life merchant vessels. Once a ship is beached and cut, the recoverable items — marine engines, gearboxes, generators, propellers, navigation electronics, copper coils, valves, pumps, machine tools — move out of the yard by road. Most are heavy, irregular, oily and bound for re-sale buyers across India and the GCC. They need custom timber crates, edge-protected pallets and dunnage boards. The spec is dictated by the salvaged item, not a standard SKU, which is why bulk packing-grade plywood in mixed thicknesses is the workhorse material here.</p><h3>GIDC plastic, brass and engineering estates</h3><p>Bhavnagar GIDC, Chitra GIDC and the nearby Sihor and Vartej clusters host a large plastic-processing base — pipes, fittings, woven sacks, household moulded goods — plus brass parts machined for export and a strong base of engineering job-shops. Container exports out of these estates run through Pipavav and Mundra ports, and exporters need pallets, crates and container flooring board that meet ISPM-15 standards. Plywood is the preferred case-wall material because it does not carry the same heat-treatment paperwork as solid sawn timber.</p><h3>Salt, soda-ash and chemical movements</h3><p>The coastal stretch up to Bhavnagar is one of India's largest salt and soda-ash producing regions. While bulk salt itself does not ride on plywood, the machinery, spare parts and process equipment moving in and out of these plants do — and they typically arrive crated.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">What we ship</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">The range that lands in Bhavnagar</h2><p>This mix is what makes Bhavnagar a packing-materials town rather than a furniture or interior plywood town. The grade conversation is almost always about strength, moisture tolerance and ISPM-15, not face polish. Here is where the plywood actually lands:</p><ul><li><strong>Alang-Sosiya yard plots</strong> — packing-grade plywood for ship-salvaged machinery crates, sized to the item</li><li><strong>Bhavnagar GIDC and Chitra GIDC</strong> — pallets and container flooring board for plastic and brass exporters</li><li><strong>Sihor and Vartej job-shop clusters</strong> — small to mid-volume engineering crates</li><li><strong>Bhavnagar port and Pipavav terminals</strong> — feeder volumes for general export packing</li><li><strong>Mundra port (around 4 hours by road)</strong> — high-volume container exports that some Bhavnagar exporters route through</li></ul><h3>Packing-grade plywood</h3><p>Our standard packing range covers commercial and rubberwood plywood from 6 mm to 18 mm. The thicknesses Bhavnagar buyers move most often are <strong>8 mm and 10 mm</strong> for case walls on lighter exports, <strong>12 mm</strong> as the all-purpose crate skin, and <strong>16–18 mm</strong> for the heavy machinery crates coming out of Alang. Sheets are MR-bonded for normal packing and BWR-bonded where the consignment sees rain or sea-side staging. We can also supply Okoume-faced sheets — a face-veneer option on the packing and BWR grades — where the receiving buyer specifies a uniform light-coloured case face.</p><h3>Finished crates and packing cases</h3><p>For exporters who do not run an in-house carpentry shop, we manufacture assembled crates and knock-down case sets. Construction is plywood walls on a sawn-timber frame, with internal cleats, corner pieces and floor runners specified to the load. Standard sizes are quoted to your container plan; non-standard sizes are built to drawing.</p><h3>Pallets</h3><p>The two most common pallets we ship into Saurashtra are the <strong>1200 × 800 mm Euro pallet</strong> and the <strong>1100 × 1100 mm standard export pallet</strong>. We supply both block and stringer constructions, with heat-treated stamps where the buyer is exporting under ISPM-15.</p><h3>Container flooring board</h3><p>For 20 ft and 40 ft container floor lining — common with brass scrap, plastic granule and machinery exporters — we supply 18 mm and 21 mm full-sheet plywood, BWR-bonded, sized to the container floor.</p><h3>Sawn timber for crate frames</h3><p>Where the buyer prefers to build crates in-house, we also ship jackwood and rubberwood runners cut to standard frame sections.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Logistics</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Kochi to Bhavnagar: the haul</h2><p>Bhavnagar sits roughly <strong>1,900 km</strong> from Kochi by road. The typical haul runs via NH-66 along the West Coast through Mangalore, Karwar, Goa, the Konkan, into Maharashtra, across to Gujarat through Vapi and Surat, then onto Bhavnagar via Vadodara or the coastal road. Transit time on dedicated trailers is normally <strong>5 to 7 days door-to-door</strong>, depending on monsoon conditions on the Konkan stretch.</p><p>For full-truck-load orders we dispatch on 20-ft or 32-ft trailers from our Perumbavoor yard. Mixed-thickness loads are common — a single trailer might carry 6 mm packing sheets, 18 mm flooring board and a stack of pallets, all on one delivery note, which is far more efficient than booking three partial shipments. For exporters running tight cycles, container-direct dispatch via Cochin Port to a nearby West Coast port is also possible, and the comparison is worth running on bulk orders.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Choosing a grade</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Matching the grade to the load</h2><table><thead><tr><th>Load type</th><th>Thickness</th><th>Grade</th><th>Why</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Light brass parts, plastic moulded goods</td><td>8 to 10 mm</td><td>MR packing-grade plywood</td><td>Cost-controlled, dry-shed staging</td></tr><tr><td>Engineering goods, exporting via Pipavav</td><td>12 mm</td><td>BWR packing grade</td><td>Tolerates port-side humidity</td></tr><tr><td>Alang-salvaged marine engines, gearboxes</td><td>16 to 18 mm</td><td>BWR packing or shuttering ply</td><td>Mechanical load, sharp corners</td></tr><tr><td>20 ft and 40 ft container flooring</td><td>18 to 21 mm</td><td>BWR full sheet</td><td>Forklift point loads</td></tr><tr><td>Premium-face export cases</td><td>10 to 12 mm</td><td>Okoume-faced plywood</td><td>Uniform light face, buyer spec</td></tr><tr><td>Construction site shuttering</td><td>12 mm</td><td>Shuttering ply (film-faced)</td><td>Repeat-pour, not for packing</td></tr></tbody></table><p>Shuttering ply is occasionally requested by Bhavnagar buyers, but it is engineered for concrete formwork and is not the right product for export crates — the film face is a cost without a function in packaging.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">FAQ</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Questions from Bhavnagar buyers</h2><h3>Do you supply ISPM-15 heat-treated material?</h3><p>Plywood, by manufacturing process, is exempt from ISPM-15 fumigation requirements. For the solid sawn timber components in crates and pallets — frames, runners, cleats — we supply heat-treated and stamped material where the buyer is exporting under ISPM-15. Confirm the requirement on the enquiry so the right stamping is arranged.</p><h3>Can you handle Alang yard delivery and gate-pass paperwork?</h3><p>Yes. We dispatch to the yard plot or to your nominated godown in the Alang-Sosiya belt, and our transporter coordinates the local gate-pass and unloading. Lead time from order confirmation is typically 7 to 10 days for stock thicknesses.</p><h3>What is the minimum order to make Bhavnagar dispatch viable?</h3><p>A single trailer load is the most economical unit. Below that, freight-per-sheet rises sharply because the West Coast haul is a fixed cost. Mixed-thickness loads on one trailer are encouraged.</p></div>

The deepwater all-weather terminal sits on the Saurashtra coast in Amreli district, with a hinterland that stretches up through Bhavnagar, Rajula, Sihor and the GIDC estates feeding it. The cargo mix here is not just containerised exports — it includes RoRo car shipments, heavy project cargo, agri commodities and a steady flow of engineering goods from inland Gujarat. The port is also the only one in India with direct rail connectivity for RoRo car exports, with car trains running down from the northern auto plants. That mix creates a very specific plywood need: export-ready packing cases, heat-treated pallets and container flooring that holds up under multi-modal handling.</p><p>Around the port and up the Bhavnagar belt, the sectors that buy plywood-based packaging at scale include:</p><ul><li><strong>Auto and auto-component exporters</strong> feeding the RoRo and container lines, often using returnable wooden cases for engine assemblies, transmissions and body panels.</li><li><strong>Engineering and machinery makers</strong> in the Bhavnagar, Sihor and Chitra GIDC estates, shipping heavy fabrications, valves, pumps and gearboxes.</li><li><strong>Diamond and gem-tool exporters</strong> further inland — Bhavnagar is a polishing hub — needing smaller, higher-value cases.</li><li><strong>The ship-breaking yards at Alang</strong>, around 70 km from Pipavav, a steady consumer of crating ply for re-rolled steel, machinery and salvaged equipment heading out as cargo.</li><li><strong>Agri and bulk processors</strong> in Amreli and Junagadh districts that crate processed goods and machinery for both export and domestic dispatch.</li><li><strong>Chemical and plastics manufacturers</strong> in the wider Saurashtra cluster, who often case-pack finished goods on plywood pallets for FCL export.</li></ul><p>The common thread across these segments is that the cargo is heavy, the journey is multi-leg (factory → trucker → port → ocean), and the buyer at the far end is unforgiving about case damage. Packaging that "just looks okay" does not survive that chain.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">What we ship</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">The Pipavav-bound range</h2><h3>Packing-grade plywood</h3><p>Our base grade for Pipavav-bound work is MR packing-grade plywood — hardwood core, phenolic-glue bonded, calibrated for crate manufacturing. The thicknesses we move regularly:</p><table><thead><tr><th>Thickness</th><th>Typical use at Pipavav</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>6 mm</td><td>Light cases, internal partitions, dunnage</td></tr><tr><td>8 mm</td><td>Carton-reinforced cases, smaller export cases</td></tr><tr><td>10 mm</td><td>General export crates, ~100–300 kg payload</td></tr><tr><td>12 mm</td><td>Standard heavy crate, auto components, RoRo packing</td></tr><tr><td>15–16 mm</td><td>Machinery cases, ship-breaking salvage crates</td></tr><tr><td>18 mm</td><td>Heavy fabrications, container flooring panels</td></tr></tbody></table><p>Sheet sizes are typically 8x4 ft, but we cut to size in our facilities for high-volume crate buyers — this avoids both wastage and the labour of resawing at the customer's end.</p><h3>Crate construction</h3><p>For port-direct Pipavav cargo, the crate spec matters as much as the ply. The combinations we build to:</p><ul><li>Plywood skin (10–18 mm) over a sawn-timber frame, with pine, jackwood or rubberwood runners depending on load.</li><li>Heat-treated, ISPM-15 marked timber for any structural member, because the destination port — not Pipavav — is what enforces it. Buyers shipping to the EU, US, Australia or the GCC need this without exception.</li><li>Through-bolted or screwed corner joinery for cargo above ~500 kg; nailing alone is not sufficient for the road leg up to Pipavav.</li><li>Internal bracing and skid mounts where the cargo is fragile or top-heavy.</li></ul><h3>Pallets</h3><p>The pallet sizes we supply most often into Pipavav-bound consignments are 1200x1000 mm (standard export), 1200x800 mm (Euro) and 1100x1100 mm (Asia-Pacific containerised). Two-way and four-way entry are both available. Block pallets are preferred where forklift access from all four sides matters at the destination port.</p><h3>Container flooring</h3><p>For high-cube and project cargo where the floor of the container itself takes damage from heavy handling, we supply 18 mm plywood flooring panels — keruing-faced where the buyer specifies it, or Okoume-faced for premium export work. Okoume is a face-veneer option on the same packing and BWR cores, not a separate grade. This is a specific ask that comes up more from Pipavav than from a typical port, because of the RoRo and heavy-cargo profile of the terminal.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Logistics</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Kochi to Pipavav</h2><p>Pipavav is roughly 1,800 km by road from Kochi, with the route running up via Bengaluru–Hubballi–Belagavi–Pune–Vadodara–Rajkot and then west into the Saurashtra coast. Trailer transit time is typically 5–7 days door-to-door depending on the season and the number of trucks moving in convoy. We move 32-ft single-axle and multi-axle trailers on this lane, with full-truck loads of cut-to-size plywood, pre-fabricated crate panels or finished pallets stacked tight.</p><p>For buyers who prefer it, we also ship coastal — Kochi to Mundra or Hazira, and trans-shipment into Pipavav. The lane economics shift depending on diesel and trailer availability, so we quote both options. For repeat buyers we hold a small running stock at the destination and dispatch on call, which removes the lead-time question on urgent crating jobs.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Choosing a grade</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Which grade for which load</h2><p>The choice of grade should follow the cargo, not the other way round. A useful rule of thumb for Pipavav-bound work:</p><ul><li><strong>MR packing-grade plywood</strong> — default for export crates, pallets and general port packing. Phenolic-bonded, holds up across the road leg and the ocean leg under normal humidity.</li><li><strong>Okoume-faced plywood</strong> — for premium export packing, high-value engineering goods, machinery cases that need a clean face, and container flooring on long-haul deepsea routes. Lighter, more uniform face, better screw retention. This is the Okoume veneer applied to the packing or BWR core, not a distinct grade.</li><li><strong>BWR / shuttering ply</strong> — not normally the right grade for packing. Worth specifying only for site-cast concrete formwork on construction projects in the Bhavnagar or Pipavav port-side infrastructure builds.</li><li><strong>Sawn timber (jackwood / rubberwood runners)</strong> — for skids, runners and crate frames under the plywood skin. Sized to the crate's payload.</li></ul></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">FAQ</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Common questions</h2><h3>Can you supply ISPM-15 compliant pallets for Pipavav exports?</h3><p>Yes. We supply heat-treated and stamped pallets and crate timber for all export consignments. The treatment is done at registered facilities and the IPPC stamp is applied per the standard. We can quote with or without ISPM-15 depending on whether the cargo is domestic or export.</p><h3>Do you deliver direct to the freight forwarder or only to the factory?</h3><p>Either. For Pipavav-bound jobs we regularly deliver pre-fabricated crate panels and assembled pallets straight to the CFS or the forwarder's warehouse close to the port, so the cargo is packed at the last possible point. This reduces handling damage on the long road leg.</p><h3>What is the minimum order quantity?</h3><p>For full-truck loads from Kochi we quote from a single 32-ft trailer onwards, roughly 18–22 tonnes depending on the mix. Smaller orders are best aggregated with other buyers in the lane — talk to us before splitting an order.</p></div>

It is not a single factory cluster — it is a port-led economy with several layers of demand stacked on top of each other, and each layer buys plywood for a different reason. Polymer and chemical importers need clean dunnage for re-bagging lines. Edible-oil refiners and pulse millers crate machinery spares that move back to OEMs across India. SEZ-based engineering exporters build heavy crates for shipment to the GCC, East Africa and Southeast Asia. And the container yards that handle the port's multi-million-TEU throughput need a steady refurbishment supply for damaged floors — every box that comes off a ship with a cracked floorboard is out of rotation until it is re-planked.</p><p>If you are sourcing for Mundra, the demand maps to a few specific belts:</p><ul><li><strong>Mundra Port SEZ</strong> — container freight stations, custom-bonded warehouses, ICDs, and the export packing units that operate inside the bonded zone. Heavy crating for project cargo, ODC equipment, and palletisation of FMCG-for-export.</li><li><strong>Mundra petrochemical and polymer cluster</strong> — bagging and re-bagging lines for HDPE, LDPE, PP and PVC granules arriving in bulk. Plywood is used as slip-sheets, dunnage, and pallet decks for forklift movement.</li><li><strong>Kutch edible-oil and agri belt (Gandhidham–Anjar–Bhuj corridor)</strong> — refiners, soybean and mustard crushers, pulse millers. Machinery spares and finished-goods crates flow back through Mundra.</li><li><strong>Gandhidham timber market</strong> — the historical hub for sawn timber and packing material in Kutch, used by smaller exporters and by traders who consolidate orders for the SEZ.</li><li><strong>Container repair yards</strong> — concentrated around the port approaches and the adjacent logistics parks, handling both reefer and dry-box refurbishment.</li></ul><p>Each of these sub-markets has a slightly different plywood spec, and we quote each one separately rather than pushing a single grade across the whole region. A Kerala-origin manufacturer can compete on quality here even after the long trucking lane, because Mundra buyers value consistency and BIS-grade glue lines more than a 200 km radius.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">What we ship</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">The range we manufacture for Mundra</h2><h3>Packing-grade plywood</h3><p>Our core line into Mundra is MR-bonded packing-grade plywood in commercial hardwood and rubberwood face options. Standard thickness range is 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 15, 16 and 18 mm in 8x4 sheets. The grade is built for export crates and pallet decking — uniform thickness, full-area face, no telegraphing, and a glue line that passes a 72-hour cold-water soak. For the polymer and edible-oil clusters where loads are repetitive and the box pattern is fixed, 8 mm and 10 mm hardwood ply are the workhorses. Heavier machinery crates for SEZ exporters typically use 12 mm or 18 mm.</p><h3>Okoume face option</h3><p>Okoume is offered as a premium face option on our MR-Packing and BWR grades, not as a separate structural grade. It is the right choice when a Mundra exporter is shipping into the GCC or European markets and the receiving end inspects the crate face — Okoume gives a clean, light, uniform appearance and accepts stencilling well. It is quoted on request and priced separately from the commercial packing card.</p><h3>Export crates</h3><p>We supply built and knock-down crates for project cargo, machinery, and consolidated FMCG exports. The crate construction uses our packing-grade plywood as the skin, jackwood or rubberwood runners as the framing, and is delivered ISPM-15 compliant where the destination requires heat-treated wood. Crate sizes are built to the customer's cargo dimensions; we do not stock-and-sell fixed sizes for Mundra because the SEZ flow is too varied.</p><h3>Pallets</h3><p>Standard pallet sizes shipped to Mundra are 1200x800 mm (Euro), 1200x1000 mm (ISO), and 1100x1100 mm (GCC/Asia). Two-way and four-way entry, with plywood top deck on hardwood runners. ISPM-15 heat-treatment marking is available on the runner stock. For polymer-bagging lines we also build heavier-duty pallets with double bottom boards rated for repeated forklift cycles.</p><h3>Container flooring plywood</h3><p>For the container repair yards near the port, we supply 28 mm container floor plywood in the standard 2400x1160 mm and 2400x2400 mm cut sizes, hardwood face, phenolic bonded. This is a specific spec — not packing ply, not shuttering ply — and is quoted as a separate line.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Logistics</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">The Kochi-to-Mundra lane</h2><p>The trucking lane runs roughly 1,900 km from our Perumbavoor loading point to Mundra Port via NH-66 along the west coast through Mangaluru, Goa, Mumbai's Bhiwandi belt, Vapi, Surat, Ahmedabad, and then west through Samakhiali into Kutch. Typical transit time for a full truck is 5 to 7 days depending on the season and Mumbai–Surat congestion. We move in 20-ft and 32-ft trailers, and in containers when the volume justifies it.</p><p>For larger or recurring orders, coastal shipping from Kochi to Mundra via Mumbai/JNPT is a viable alternative — longer transit, but per-tonne economics improve once you cross full-container quantities. We discuss the route option at the quoting stage based on volume and the buyer's preference.</p><p>All rates are quoted ex-Perumbavoor; GST and transport are extra. For Mundra specifically, we are happy to quote delivered-to-site as well, since we run the route regularly enough to give a firm freight number. For export-destined crates and pallets we supply with the ISPM-15 heat-treatment mark on the runner stock — mention the destination country at the quoting stage so we apply the correct treatment record.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">Choosing a grade</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Which grade fits which Mundra load</h2><table><thead><tr><th>Typical Mundra load</th><th>Recommended grade</th><th>Common thickness</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Polymer / chemical re-bagging dunnage</td><td>MR Packing-grade (commercial hardwood)</td><td>8 mm, 10 mm</td></tr><tr><td>Edible-oil and agri machinery crates</td><td>MR Packing-grade (rubberwood or hardwood)</td><td>12 mm, 15 mm</td></tr><tr><td>SEZ heavy export crates / project cargo</td><td>MR Packing-grade, BWR for monsoon shipment</td><td>15 mm, 18 mm</td></tr><tr><td>GCC / EU export with face inspection</td><td>Okoume face on MR or BWR base</td><td>12 mm, 18 mm</td></tr><tr><td>Standard ISO / Euro pallet decks</td><td>MR Packing-grade hardwood</td><td>10 mm, 12 mm</td></tr><tr><td>Container floor refurbishment</td><td>Container floor plywood, phenolic bonded</td><td>28 mm</td></tr><tr><td>SEZ shuttering / civil works</td><td>Shuttering ply (film-faced where needed)</td><td>12 mm, 18 mm</td></tr></tbody></table><p>The rule we follow when a Mundra buyer is unsure: packing-grade for domestic-bound consolidations, BWR or Okoume when the cargo will see a sea voyage and humidity exposure, and dedicated container flooring for anything going into a box-floor build. We do not push a higher grade than the application needs.</p></div>
<div class="cwp__container"><p class="cwp__eyebrow">FAQ</p><h2 class="cwp__h2">Common questions from Mundra buyers</h2><h3>What is the typical lead time for a full truck to Mundra?</h3><p>From order confirmation, 3 to 5 working days to load at Perumbavoor, plus 5 to 7 days transit. So plan on 8 to 12 days door-to-door for a standard packing-ply truckload. Pre-cut and ISPM-treated stock can extend this by 2 to 3 days.</p><h3>Can you supply against an SEZ purchase order with the SEZ documentation?</h3><p>Yes. SEZ-bonded supply requires the buyer's SEZ unit approval, ARE-1 / GST documentation, and our regular E-way bill. We handle the paperwork side once your buyer details are in.</p><h3>Do you provide ISPM-15 marking on crates and pallets shipped to Mundra?</h3><p>Yes — for export-destined crates and pallets we supply with the heat-treatment mark on the runner stock. Mention the destination country at the quoting stage so we apply the correct treatment record.</p></div>
