To outsiders it is a coaching-class town. To anyone who loads trucks for a living, it is one of the densest industrial pockets between Delhi and Ahmedabad: Kota stone slabs, urea and DAP fertilizer, thermal-power equipment, precision engineering and a growing cluster of stone-processing exporters. Each of those sectors moves heavy, brittle or moisture-sensitive freight that has to survive 5–7 day pan-India transit or a long sea leg out of Mundra, Pipavav or JNPT.

Kota's manufacturing footprint is spread across a handful of well-defined belts. Anyone shipping plywood into the city tends to know these by name rather than by postcode:

RIICO Industrial Area, Indraprastha — the largest organised estate, mixed engineering, fabrication and stone-processing units.

Ranpur and Sakatpura belts — older clusters where most of the stone-cutting, polishing and crate-loading yards operate.

RIICO Growth Centre, Rangbari — newer plots with larger engineering and ancillary sheds.

Gegal–Mandana stretch — the heart of the Kota stone quarrying and slab-processing trade, feeding export crates that head to JNPT and Mundra.

Gadepan fertilizer township — about 40 km out, where a large urea and DAP complex anchors demand that ripples down to bag-packaging and pallet buyers in the city.

Thermal power cluster — a major super thermal power station and the surrounding equipment workshops generate steady demand for crating spares, valves and heavy castings.

That mix of natural-stone exporters, fertilizer logistics, power-plant maintenance and precision parts is the reason Kota's packing-material demand is far less seasonal than it looks from the outside. The coaching economy gets the headlines; the industrial belt pays the freight bills.

What we ship

Four product lines we manufacture for the Hadoti region

Most enquiries from the Hadoti region fall into four buckets. We size and quote each one differently.

Packing-grade plywood (the bulk of what moves north)

Commercial and rubberwood-core packing ply, ex-factory Kochi, is the default for box-makers, crate yards and in-house packing departments. Typical thickness picked by Kota buyers:

Thickness

Typical use in Kota

6 mm & 8 mm

Light component boxes, electronics, instrumentation crates

10–12 mm

General engineering crates and the side-walls of stone slab cases

15–18 mm

Base panels for heavy crates, valves, transformer parts and floor-grade load-spreaders under stone slab consignments

All rates are ex-factory Kochi; GST and freight extra. We hold to a transparent purchase-plus-margin model and quote against a confirmed thickness, size and monthly quantity rather than a generic list price. Okoume is available as a face-veneer option on the packing and BWR grades where the end client wants a cleaner export finish.

ISPM-15 export crates

Kota stone exporters and any unit shipping engineering goods out of Mundra, Pipavav, JNPT or Hazira need ISPM-15 heat-treated, marked timber for the crate frame. We manufacture the sawn hardwood runners (jackwood and rubberwood) and the packing-ply skin as a coordinated kit, so the local crate yard is not stitching together two different supply chains.

Hardwood pallets

Standard sizes for Kota buyers tend to cluster around 1200×1000 mm and 1100×1100 mm for fertilizer-bag stacking, and 1200×800 mm euro-style for engineering exporters. We can ship knock-down pallet kits — runners, deck boards, blocks — that are nailed locally, which keeps the freight bill sane on a 2,000 km lane.

Container flooring

For exporters loading 20-foot or 40-foot containers with stone slabs or heavy castings, an 18 mm packing-ply floor laid over the steel deck protects both the cargo and the container's resale value. We supply cut-to-size sheets in 1220×2440 mm or made-to-order panel sizes.

Logistics

The Kochi to Kota lane

The lane from our Perumbavoor / Ernakulam facilities to Kota is a straight north-bound trucking move. There is no realistic coastal short-cut: Kota is landlocked, and the nearest container ports (Mundra and Pipavav in Gujarat) are themselves 900 km further west. Practical numbers:

Parameter

Typical

Road distance, Ernakulam to Kota

~2,000 km

Transit time, single-driver 32 ft / 22 ft truck

5–7 days

Route corridor

NH 544 / NH 48 via Salem, Bengaluru, Pune, Ahmedabad, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Kota

Practical truck sizes

22 ft (8–9 MT), 32 ft single-axle (15–16 MT), 32 ft multi-axle (21 MT)

Unloading point

Buyer's yard in RIICO Indraprastha, Ranpur, Rangbari or Gegal–Mandana

For volumes below a full truck we consolidate with other Rajasthan and northern-belt orders; for full truckloads we lock the freight with our trucking partners on the Kochi–Mumbai–Ahmedabad–Kota route. Either way we share the loading plan, headroom and any unloading charges up front, so there are no surprises at the gate. ISPM-15 stamped timber is heat-treated and fumigated where the export documentation calls for it.

Choosing a grade

Packing grade vs Okoume face vs shuttering

Three options cover almost every Kota requirement. Picking the right one matters more than picking the cheapest.

Commercial / rubberwood packing-grade plywood — the default for crates, pallets, container floors and most domestic-bound packaging. Strong enough for the loads, sensibly priced for high-volume box makers.

Okoume-faced plywood — recommended where the customer's end client wants a cleaner export look (premium stone consignments, engineering exports to GCC and Europe) or where moisture exposure on the sea leg is a concern. Okoume is a face-veneer option on the packing and BWR grades, quoted on request rather than as a list-price item.

Shuttering / film-faced plywood — relevant for construction and infrastructure buyers in and around Kota, including thermal-plant civil work and the steady stream of commercial real estate in the coaching-college belt. Not the right grade for packing crates.

Most Kota first-time enquiries start in option 1, and a fraction graduate to the Okoume face once the exporter's foreign buyer asks for a better-looking crate.

FAQ

Common questions from Kota buyers

How quickly can a first order land in Kota?

From a confirmed PI and advance, dispatch from Kochi is usually within 3–5 working days and transit is 5–7 days, so plan for roughly 10–12 days door-to-yard for a fresh buyer. Repeat orders compress to about a week.

Do you supply ISPM-15 marked timber for stone exports?

Yes. Heat-treated, ISPM-15 stamped sawn hardwood runners are supplied alongside the packing-ply skin so the crate yard in Ranpur or Gegal has a single point of accountability for both materials.

What is the minimum order size that makes Kochi-to-Kota freight economical?

A 22 ft truck (around 8–9 MT of plywood and timber) is the smallest practical unit. Below that we either consolidate with other northern-belt orders or quote part-load freight, which materially changes the landed cost.

Get a quote

Tell us your spec and delivery address

If you run a packing-case yard in Ranpur, a stone-export operation in Gegal, a fertilizer-bag packaging line near Gadepan, or an engineering shed in RIICO Indraprastha, we are ready to quote against a specific thickness, size and monthly volume. The buyers who matter here are not furniture workshops or interior contractors. They are zinc smelter packing departments, marble export yards, brass handicraft consolidators and the truck-body builders who feed all three. Each segment has a very specific plywood requirement, and most care more about edge integrity, moisture behaviour and weight per crate than they do about face cosmetics. That is the niche our operation has served from Kochi for decades, and it is exactly why a southern Kerala manufacturer shows up on Rajasthan packing lines roughly 1,900 km away.

The district carries an unusually heavy industrial footprint for a city better known as a tourist destination. The plywood demand flowing out of it concentrates in five distinct belts:

The Chanderiya lead-zinc smelter belt — roughly 13 km from Udaipur city, one of the largest single zinc smelting complexes in the country. Ingot bundles, cathode plates and silver dore boxes all need export-grade wooden packaging.

Madri Industrial Area (RIICO) — Sectors 1 through 4, packed with auxiliary engineering units, mineral processors and electrical equipment fabricators that crate finished goods for despatch across India and the Gulf.

Sukher Industrial Area — mixed engineering and handicraft units that export brass and metalware to the US and EU.

Kaladwas and Debari — the zinc-and-chemicals corridor along NH-48 east of the city, including a second zinc smelter and ancillary acid and sulphuric units.

The marble belt — Rakhi, Morwad, Sukher and the Kankroli–Rajsamand stretch. Udaipur is the consolidation point for Rajasthan marble heading to JNPT, Mundra and Pipavav for export to the Middle East and East Asia. Marble blocks and slabs ride on heavy-duty wooden bases and side-protected crates.

Layered on top of these is the handicraft sector — silver jewellery, miniature paintings, brass sculptures and marble inlay work — much of it sold through Jaipur and Delhi exporters but crated locally in Udaipur. These are smaller boxes with high-value contents, so the plywood spec matters.

What we ship

Four product lines off the Kochi–Udaipur lane

Udaipur buyers typically pull four product lines from our range. The fit depends on what is being packed.

Packing-grade plywood (commercial / rubberwood)

The workhorse for crate walls, lids and internal partitions. Common thicknesses we manufacture and move on the Kochi–Udaipur lane:

Thickness

Typical Udaipur use

6 mm

Handicraft inner boxes, marble slab face-protection sheets

8–10 mm

Light engineering crates, brass-ware export boxes

12 mm

Zinc ingot stacking boxes, medium engineering crates

15–16 mm

Heavy crate side walls, marble block crates

18 mm

Crate bases, container flooring, heavy machinery skids

Sheets ship in standard 8×4 ft, with 8×6 and 7×4 cut sizes available against confirmed orders. All packing-grade is despatched ex-factory; GST and freight are extra. As a rule we work to purchase rate + ₹2.50/sq.ft on the packing range so the costing stays transparent.

Okoume face veneer

Okoume is a premium face-veneer option on our packing and BWR grades for buyers who export to markets that inspect crate quality — Europe, the GCC and parts of East Asia. Where a marble exporter in Sukher or a precision-engineering unit in Madri needs a cleaner face, tighter glue line and lower variance crate-to-crate, the Okoume face is the right call. It is priced separately from the commercial packing card and quoted on request, typically against monthly volumes.

Pallets and export crates

For zinc despatches and any marble or handicraft container heading abroad, packaging must comply with ISPM-15, the international heat-treatment standard for wood packaging in export. Standard pallet footprints we build to:

1200 × 800 mm Euro pallet — common for engineering and electronics exports

1200 × 1000 mm — the heavier base used for zinc ingot bundles

1100 × 1100 mm — for ocean-container utilisation on long-haul routes

Custom skids — heavy-duty bearers for marble blocks, often 150–200 mm thick sawn-timber tops on a plywood deck

Container flooring, shuttering ply and sawn timber

Container floor replacement ply (typically 28 mm hardwood) and BWR-bonded shuttering plywood for the construction projects feeding Udaipur's hospitality and housing build-out are both supplied on order. Shuttering ply suits Sukher and Madri civil works as well as the steady infrastructure spend around the lakes and approach roads. Jackwood runners at ₹400/cft (¼-inch minus tolerance) and rubberwood runners as per size complete the crate bill of materials — bearers, cleats and corner posts that take the structural load while plywood handles the wall span.

Logistics

Kochi to Udaipur, ~1,900 km

Udaipur sits roughly 1,900 km by road from Kochi. The standard trucking lane runs Kochi → Bangalore → Pune → Ahmedabad → Udaipur on the NH-48 / NH-8 corridor. A full-truck movement is normally 6 to 8 days door-to-door depending on toll-gate season and Rajasthan border RTO clearance. Material despatches ex-factory from our Perumbavoor base, and we coordinate transport on request, though most repeat buyers prefer to nominate their own transporter once the lane is established.

For partial loads or fast-moving SKUs, container movement via Cochin Port → Mundra (sea leg) → Udaipur (road leg of about 750 km) can work out cost-competitive on certain thickness mixes, particularly where the buyer is already pulling other imports through Mundra. It is worth pricing both options on a thickness-and-volume basis before committing. Heat-treated, IPPC-stamped material can be supplied for any export-bound crate or pallet — specify ISPM-15 at the quotation stage so it is built into the line item rather than added as an afterthought.

Choosing a grade

Which grade for which Udaipur load

Zinc ingot crates and brass/electrical engineering exports — packing-grade commercial plywood, 12–18 mm depending on box size, ISPM-15 heat treated. The face is not the priority; edge crush resistance and a consistent glue line are.

Marble block and slab crates heading to JNPT/Mundra — 15–18 mm packing-grade for walls, 18 mm or sawn-timber-on-ply skids for the base. Internal cushioning is the marble exporter's job; ours is the structural cage.

Premium handicraft, brass sculpture and silver consignments — Okoume-faced packing ply, 8–12 mm. The cosmetic uplift matters when international customs inspectors open boxes at random.

Civil and infrastructure work in Udaipur city — BWR-bonded shuttering plywood. Different product family, same Kochi origin.

FAQ

Common questions from Udaipur buyers

What is the minimum order quantity for Udaipur despatch?

A full truckload (roughly 200–250 sheets depending on thickness mix) keeps freight per sq.ft at a sensible level. Smaller orders are possible, but the per-sheet landed cost rises sharply, so we usually recommend consolidating with another local buyer or planning a quarterly intake instead.

Do you handle the ISPM-15 heat treatment and stamp?

Yes. Heat-treated, IPPC-stamped material can be supplied for any export-bound crate or pallet. Specify ISPM-15 at the quotation stage so it is built into the line item rather than added as an afterthought.

Can you build the crates in Udaipur instead of shipping flat sheets?

For most segments it is more economical to ship plywood and sawn timber to Udaipur and build crates at the packing line — the cube of empty crates is wasteful on a 1,900 km haul. We supply the boards, runners and ISPM-15-treated bearers cut to size; local fabricators in Madri and Sukher handle assembly.

Get a quote

Talk to the despatch desk

If you are running a packing line in Madri, Sukher or the Chanderiya belt, or consolidating marble out of the Rakhi–Morwad stretch, the fastest way to a workable price is a short note covering thickness, monthly quantity and delivery point. Whether the carton headed for Boranada holds Sheesham dining sets, antique-replica almirahs, guar gum powder for the food industry, or precision-engineered industrial parts, somewhere in that supply chain a packing-case maker is cutting plywood to size. Jodhpur sits squarely inside the buyer pattern we know well: bulk, repeat, export-grade, no surprises.

The city's manufacturing footprint sits in a few well-defined pockets — Boranada (the largest, around 18 km south-west of the city), Sangariya, Mandore, the Heavy Industrial Area, and the newer extensions along the Pali road. The furniture cluster of solid Sheesham, mango wood, reclaimed wood and antique replica is what put Jodhpur on the global trade map, and it is still the city's loudest export. Add the guar gum processors (Jodhpur and the surrounding belt account for a significant share of India's guar derivatives exports), the handicrafts ecosystem, and a growing engineering sub-cluster, and you have a city that ships physical goods abroad almost every working day. Every one of those shipments needs a wooden box, a pallet, or container dunnage.

Sectors we serve in and around Jodhpur

Furniture exporters — heavy solid-wood items going to the US, EU, UK and Australia. Crate panels typically 9–12 mm packing-grade, with 18 mm bases for skid-mounted heavy units.

Antique-replica and handicraft exporters — mixed-load LCL shipments where panel consistency and nail-holding matter more than face finish.

Guar gum and food-grade powder exporters — bagged product stacked on hardwood pallets, usually moved in 20-ft containers, where pallet structural ply and heat-treated runners are the recurring spend.

Engineering and auto-component exporters — heavier crates, often with shock-absorbing internal framing on a plywood-faced base.

Marble and stone processors in the wider Rajasthan belt — A-frame crates, plywood-faced bracing, and dunnage planks.

What we ship

The Jodhpur material flow

The Jodhpur enquiry list is fairly predictable once you have shipped a few rounds. Below is the typical material flow, all manufactured at our facilities.

Packing-grade commercial plywood

Our standard packing-grade ply (rubberwood / commercial hardwood core, MR-bonded) is what most Jodhpur crate makers actually want. It is built for box and case work, not for furniture finishing, which keeps the cost honest. Common Jodhpur orders:

Thickness

Typical use in Jodhpur

6 mm

Inner partitions, light handicraft boxes

8–10 mm

Side and top panels for medium furniture crates

12 mm

Main panel for export furniture crates; guar gum slip-sheets

15–16 mm

Heavy crate panels, engineering goods

18 mm

Crate bases, skids, container dunnage, pallet decks

Sheet size is 8×4 ft standard, but we cut to custom widths for crate makers running standing saws — useful for the antique-replica yards that work to non-standard footprints.

Okoume face veneer

For exporters whose buyers specify a cleaner-looking exterior crate — display-piece furniture, premium handicraft, certain EU retailers — an Okoume face veneer on the same packing core gives a uniform reddish-brown look without paying for marine-grade material. Okoume is a face-veneer option on our packing and BWR grades, not a separate grade. It is a finish call, not a strength call.

Crates, pallets and container flooring

Knock-down crate kits — pre-cut panels, heat-treated framing, fasteners, shipped flat. Useful when the Jodhpur exporter does not want to run their own ply-cutting line.

Two-way and four-way pallets — standard 1200×1000 mm and 1200×800 mm decks for guar gum and bagged-export loads, with 18 mm plywood top decks where required.

Container flooring and dunnage — 18 mm boards for floor reinforcement on heavy furniture loads, and rough sawn dunnage for blocking.

Sawn hardwood — jackwood and rubberwood runners for crate framing, billed by cft.

Logistics

The Kochi-to-Jodhpur lane

Jodhpur is about 2,100 km from Kochi by road, and almost everything we send up there moves by full-truck-load. The standard lane runs Kochi → Bengaluru → Hyderabad → Nagpur → Udaipur → Jodhpur, with transit times of roughly 6–8 days for a 32-ft single-axle truck, depending on the season and the driver's planned halts. We also use Kochi → Mumbai (Vashi/Bhiwandi) → Jaipur → Jodhpur when the load needs to consolidate with a Mumbai pickup.

For larger volumes — the multi-truck monthly runs that some of the guar gum and furniture exporters consume — we plan loads at our facility so a 32-ft truck leaves fully cubed (around 600–700 sheets of 18 mm equivalent, give or take). That keeps the per-sheet landed cost in Jodhpur predictable. EX-factory pricing plus GST plus transport is the rule; we share the freight quote alongside the proforma so there is no last-minute surprise.

For coastal exporters working through Mundra or Pipavav, we can also bridge containerised dispatches from Cochin port — but for inland Jodhpur, road from Kochi is faster and cheaper than any sea-plus-rail combination. ISPM-15 heat-treated framing, skids and runners are handled on the dispatch side for export-bound loads.

Choosing a grade

Which grade for which Jodhpur load

Default — commercial packing-grade ply

Use this for the vast majority of Jodhpur orders: standard export furniture crates, handicraft boxes, engineering crates, and pallet decks for bagged powder exports. It is what the cost-sheet wants.

Step up to an Okoume face

When the buyer at the other end has specified an external finish, or when the crate doubles as display packaging. Higher cost, better look, the same structural performance as the underlying packing core.

Shuttering ply

Not a packing material, but Jodhpur's construction activity along the Pali road and the ring road generates a parallel demand. We supply film-faced shuttering ply to infrastructure and concrete-frame contractors, separately quoted.

Sawn timber

For runners, bracing, blocking and any structural element of a crate that needs to be solid wood rather than ply. Quoted by cft, separately from the ply roll-up.

FAQ

Jodhpur buyers — common questions

Do you supply ISPM-15 compliant packing?

Yes. For exporters who need heat-treated wood, we supply ISPM-15 stamped pallets and crate framing. The plywood panels themselves are exempt from ISPM-15 because they are engineered wood, but the solid-wood components — runners, skids, bracing — must be treated, and we handle that on the dispatch side.

What is the minimum order you accept for a Jodhpur delivery?

We are set up for truck-load economics. A part-load works only if we can consolidate with another Rajasthan-bound shipment in the same week. For one-off small orders we usually recommend buying through a Jaipur stockist rather than paying full freight from Kochi.

Do you handle the freight or do we arrange our own truck?

Either works. We have lane-tested transporters running Kochi to Jodhpur and can include door-delivered freight in the quote, or we can keep it ex-factory and let your Jodhpur logistics team take over at Perumbavoor. Most exporters prefer door-delivered so they can hold a single supplier accountable.

Get a quote

Get a quote for your Jodhpur project

If you run a packing-case yard, a furniture export workshop in Boranada, or a guar gum processing plant looking to lock in a steady pallet and ply supply, the practical next step is a short conversation about thickness, monthly volume and delivery location. We manufacture in Perumbavoor, where our group has run plywood operations since 1986, and we ship export-grade material across India and beyond. A consignment of certified emeralds leaving Sitapura, a slab of Makrana white marble heading to a US showroom, and a block-printed wooden chest bound for a European fair all rely on the same core inputs: stable packing-grade plywood, properly built crates, and pallets that survive multi-modal handling. Jaipur's export economy concentrates in a handful of clearly defined belts, and each one drives a different style of crate demand.

Sitapura Industrial Area and SEZ

Sitapura, on the southern edge of the city along the Tonk Road, is the heart of Jaipur's gem and jewellery cluster. The Sitapura SEZ and the broader industrial area host cutting and polishing units, certified jewellery exporters, and the freight forwarders that move their high-value, low-volume consignments. The packaging here is small-format but engineering-grade: precision plywood boxes lined with foam, fitted with cushioned inserts, and built to clear customs without rough-handling damage.

Bagru, Sanganer and the handicraft belt

Bagru and Sanganer, west and south of the city, are the engines behind Jaipur's block-printed textiles, blue pottery and decorative wood handicraft exports. Crating here runs larger and more variable: furniture pieces, ceramic groups, framed mirrors and assorted home-decor lots. Volumes are seasonal, peaking ahead of European and US trade-show cycles. Plywood specifications need to handle ocean transit and warehouse stacking without warping through humid coastal ports.

Marble cluster and the Kishangarh corridor

The Kishangarh marble market sits about 100 km from Jaipur and is one of the largest marble trading hubs in Asia. While the heaviest slab packing happens closer to the quarries, finished marble tile and processed stone export work flows through Jaipur-based forwarders. Marble packing demands the heaviest grade of plywood we ship — boards rated for compression and edge-impact, on pallets sized for slab geometry rather than standard footprints.

VKI and the engineering belt

The integrated business city near Ajmer Road and the older Vishwakarma Industrial Area (VKI) on the city's north-western edge bring in engineering goods, auto components and contract-manufacturing exporters. These units crate machine parts, sub-assemblies and tooling for shipment, which tends to use the same packing-grade plywood specifications as our pan-India engineering customers.

What we ship

The packing range we send up the Rajasthan lane

Jaipur consignments cover most of our packing range. The mix below reflects what the city's industrial belts typically order from a packing-grade manufacturer.

Packing-grade plywood (MR-Packing)

Our MR-Packing range is the workhorse for crate and case manufacturers. Standard thicknesses move in regular volumes:

Thickness

Typical Jaipur use

6 mm

Inner partitions, jewellery box linings, light handicraft cases

8 mm / 10 mm

Mid-weight handicraft and ceramic crates

12 mm

General-purpose export crates, engineering goods

15 mm / 16 mm

Heavy marble and machinery cases

18 mm

Container flooring, heavy stone crates, pallet decks

Sheet sizes follow standard 8x4 ft formats, with cut-to-size options available on bulk orders. Face options include commercial/rubberwood for the working packing range and an Okoume veneer face where a cleaner export aesthetic matters.

Built crates and pallets

For exporters who would rather buy a finished crate than build in-house, we fabricate wooden crates and pallets to drawing. Pallet sizes commonly ordered for Jaipur runs include the 1200x800 mm Euro footprint and the 1200x1000 mm standard for North American freight. Marble exporters often need non-standard pallet geometries — long, narrow decks with reinforced bearers — which we build to spec.

Container flooring

18 mm BWR or marine-grade plywood for container floor repair and refurbishment is a recurring item for Jaipur freight stations and reefer operators handling fragile or moisture-sensitive cargo. These ship in container-load lots on the same trucks as packing-grade orders, which keeps logistics economics workable.

Sawn timber for crate bracing

Hardwood runners and bracing timber are part of most full-crate orders. Jackwood and rubberwood sections, cut to the exporter's dimensions, move alongside the plywood on the same consignment.

Logistics

Kochi to Jaipur, by road or coastal trans-ship

Jaipur is roughly 2,000 km from our dispatch points in Kerala. The standard road route runs Kochi to Bengaluru, then up via Mumbai or via the Hyderabad-Nagpur-Indore corridor before joining NH-48 into Jaipur. Full-truckload (FTL) plywood consignments typically run 4 to 6 days door-to-door depending on weather, checkposts and the season. We work with established trucking partners on the Kerala-to-Rajasthan lane, which keeps freight predictable and avoids the surcharge volatility of spot-market trucks.

For large or recurring orders, we can also route via Nhava Sheva (JNPT) coastal shipping to Mundra Port, then trans-ship by road to Jaipur. This is sometimes economical for container-load volumes during peak monsoon disruptions on the inland route. Either way, our quotes are issued ex-Kochi with GST and freight stated separately, so the buyer can compare landed costs cleanly. Export crates and pallets leave heat-treated and ISPM-15 stamped, with phytosanitary documentation travelling with the consignment.

Choosing a grade

Which grade for which job

Jaipur's range of cargo means a single grade rarely fits every order. The rules below match material to application.

Use MR-Packing (commercial/rubberwood face) for general export crates, handicraft cases, engineering sub-assembly boxes, and any dry-cargo packaging that does not need a cosmetic outer face. Best price-to-performance for high-volume crate makers.

Step up to an Okoume veneer face where the crate's outer appearance matters — premium jewellery boxes, high-end home-decor exports, and buyer-facing display crates. Okoume is a face-veneer choice on the same packing-grade body, not a separate grade.

Use BWR or shuttering ply for marble and stone packing where compression loads, humidity exposure during port transit, and edge impact are real risks. The same grade serves container flooring and pallet decks intended for repeated use.

Use sawn hardwood for crate bracing, corner posts and skids — never sub-grade pine for heavy export work bound for marine transit.

FAQ

Common questions from Jaipur buyers

Do you handle ISPM-15 treatment?

Yes. Crates and pallets bound for export are heat-treated and stamped to ISPM-15 standards. We issue the relevant phytosanitary documentation with the consignment so the exporter can clear customs without delay.

What is the minimum order for a Jaipur dispatch?

For ex-Kochi FTL economics to work, we recommend a minimum of one full truck — typically around 800 to 1,000 sheets of standard 8x4 ft packing-grade plywood, depending on thickness. Smaller orders can ride along with consolidated loads when available; ask at the quote stage.

How are prices structured?

All rates are quoted ex-factory Kochi in rupees per square foot, with GST and transport extra. Once thickness, monthly quantity and delivery location at Jaipur are confirmed, we issue a proforma invoice with landed pricing.

Get a quote

Quote your monthly Jaipur requirement

If you run a packing-case unit, freight-forwarding setup, marble export operation or handicraft consolidator in Jaipur or the surrounding industrial belt, we can quote your monthly requirement against a clear specification. As a manufacturer with group operations in Perumbavoor since 1986, we hold the spec across the packing range, the crates and the bracing timber on one consignment. Send through the thickness mix, sheet sizes, monthly volume and delivery point, and we will come back with an ex-factory rate, freight to Jaipur and lead time. Request a quote through the contact form, or browse the resource hub for technical specifications on packing-grade plywood, ISPM-15 crates and container flooring before you write the brief.

The synthetic textile mills, the suiting and shirting weavers, the polyester and viscose spinners, and a heavy carbon-graphite cluster all generate steady outbound freight, and each flow needs different timber and plywood. Commonly called the Manchester of India for synthetic textiles, the district produces a very large share of the country's polyester-viscose suiting fabric, and the cluster has matured into a complete chain: spinning, weaving, processing, garmenting and machinery support. Alongside the textile economy sits a major carbon-graphite electrode operation at Mandpam, one of the largest of its kind in the world.

The combination means a Bhilwara plywood buyer is not just a packing-case buyer; they are buying timber for export crates, machinery skids, container floors and shuttering ply for plant expansion, sometimes within the same purchase order. That mix is exactly what our operation is set up for. The average crate from this belt is heavier, larger and more export-bound than the national average, which makes the long lane from Kochi a high-value one.

Industrial areas to know

RIICO Industrial Area, Bhilwara — the original textile and processing hub, dense with weaving and dyeing units.

RIICO Growth Centre, Hamirgarh — the larger expansion belt south of the city; home to several integrated spinning and weaving plants and the segment most likely to need full container loads of plywood at a time.

Mandpam — the graphite electrode complex; specialised heavy-duty crating and skid demand.

Gulabpura and Mandalgarh corridors — secondary industrial pockets along NH-79; textile machinery service units and ancillary fabrication.

Sectors we serve in this belt

Synthetic yarn and polyester-viscose fabric exporters needing strong, lightweight outer packing.

Textile machinery OEMs and service contractors shipping looms, sizing machines, draw-texturising units and spare assemblies.

Graphite and refractory-adjacent units requiring heavy-duty timber crates and reinforced skids.

Engineering ancillaries, cement and mineral processing units in the wider Bhilwara–Chittorgarh corridor that need shuttering plywood for capex builds and pallets for inbound raw-material flow.

What we ship

The range that goes into Bhilwara

Packing-grade plywood

Our core SKU for this belt is commercial / rubberwood packing-grade plywood in the standard thickness range — 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 15mm, 16mm and 18mm. For Bhilwara's typical fabric and yarn export box, 8mm and 12mm do most of the work; 12mm walls with 18mm bases is a common build for heavier textile machinery crates. All rates are ex-factory, GST and transport extra, and we hold a fixed margin over our purchase rate so the buyer sees a transparent build-up rather than a black-box price. Okoume is available as a face-veneer option on the packing grade when the crate exterior needs a cleaner finish.

Crate and case construction

For full export crates we combine packing-grade plywood panels with sawn jackwood or rubberwood runners and battens. Jackwood runs at roughly ₹400 per cubic foot, with the standard quarter-inch-minus tolerance buyers in this segment expect. Heavy textile machinery shipments to the Middle East and Vietnam typically need ISPM-15 compliant softwood framing; we coordinate fumigation stamps and heat-treatment certificates with the crate builder so the cargo is not held at port.

Pallets

The Bhilwara belt uses two pallet families:

Two-way and four-way export pallets for outbound yarn and fabric — generally 1200×1000 mm or 1100×1100 mm for GCC and Southeast Asia destinations.

Heavy-duty domestic pallets in 1200×800 mm and Indian standard sizes for inbound raw-material movement inside the larger mills.

Container flooring

For exporters loading 20ft and 40ft containers directly at the plant, we supply 18mm and 28mm container-floor-grade plywood when the use case calls for a one-trip reinforced floor or a custom loading skid. This is a smaller line item by volume but a high-value one for a polished export operation.

Shuttering plywood

For capex projects — new spinning halls, dyeing additions, warehouse roofs and the periodic civil work around the textile parks and graphite plant — film-faced shuttering plywood in 12mm and 18mm goes in for slab and wall formwork.

Logistics

How the Kochi-to-Bhilwara lane works

Bhilwara is roughly 2,100 km from Kochi by road. The realistic trucking lane runs Kochi (Ernakulam) → Bengaluru → Hyderabad → Nagpur → Indore → Chittorgarh → Bhilwara, or the western variant through Mumbai–Nashik–Udaipur–Bhilwara when the load originates near the port. Transit time for a full truckload (32ft single-axle or multi-axle) is typically 6 to 9 days door-to-door depending on monsoon conditions, RTO checkpoint queues and the buyer's unloading window.

Practical points we manage on this lane:

Truck capacity matched to thickness mix. 18mm plywood loads heavier than 8mm at the same square-footage; we plan the loading sheet so the buyer is not overpaying freight on cubed-out trucks.

Headroom for monsoon detours. The Konkan and Ghat sections see frequent diversions July to September; we build a 1–2 day headroom into committed delivery dates.

Unloading charges quoted upfront. Bhilwara mill yards usually unload by forklift or manual gang; either way the unloading charge sits in the PI so there is no surprise at the gate.

Single-stop or split-drop. For buyers in both Bhilwara and Chittorgarh / Bhim / Gulabpura, we can split a truck across two delivery points at a small additional charge rather than forcing a second LCL.

Choosing a grade

Which grade fits which load

The right specification depends on the load, the destination and whether the crate exterior is inspected. The table below maps the loads common in the Bhilwara belt to the grade we recommend.

Load type

Recommended grade

Why

Standard yarn / fabric export box

Packing-grade commercial / rubberwood

Cost-efficient, strong enough for one-trip export, predictable supply.

Premium / high-finish export to GCC or EU

Okoume face veneer on the packing grade

Cleaner face, lighter weight per panel, better appearance for buyers who inspect the crate exterior.

Heavy textile machinery, graphite-adjacent skids

18mm packing-grade with jackwood runners

Load-bearing combination; the hardwood runner takes the point load, the panel distributes it.

Container floor reinforcement

18mm or 28mm packing-grade panels

Replaces or augments the OEM container floor for single-trip heavy export.

Capex civil work — slabs, columns, walls

Film-faced shuttering ply, 12mm / 18mm

Reusable, smooth finish, predictable cycle count for the contractor.

FAQ

Bhilwara buyers ask us

Do you supply ISPM-15 compliant crates ready for export?

We manufacture the plywood and timber components; ISPM-15 stamping is done by certified fumigation partners at or near the buyer's premises. We coordinate the documentation so the crate is export-ready.

What is the minimum order quantity for a Kochi-to-Bhilwara shipment?

The lane economics start to work cleanly at one full truckload (roughly 600–700 sheets of mixed thickness, depending on the load plan). Smaller quantities are possible via part-load aggregators, but the per-sheet freight component rises sharply.

How do you price Okoume versus standard packing-grade?

Standard packing-grade is on our published ex-factory price card with a fixed margin over purchase rate. Okoume is priced separately on request because the face-veneer pricing moves with the import market; we quote it order-wise with current landed-cost backing.

Half an hour south-west, the Kishangarh marble cluster runs one of the world's largest stone markets, with slabs and blocks moving by the thousands of tonnes every week toward ports at Mundra, Pipavav and Nhava Sheva. Half an hour north-east, the Beawar and Bhilwara axis feeds a dense textile and processed-mineral belt. Both ends of that corridor need the same thing in volume: dependable packing-grade plywood for export crates, pallets and container floors that hold up in transit.

The district's manufacturing footprint splits across three concentrations, each with a different appetite for wood-based packaging:

Kishangarh marble cluster — over a thousand processing units along the NH-448 corridor. Slab and block exports run to the GCC, Europe and the United States. Each container load typically needs heavy-duty wooden crates or A-frame stillages plus container-floor protection.

RIICO industrial areas at Palra, Parbatpura and Kishangarh-Madanganj — mixed engineering, mineral processing, packaging units and ancillary fabrication. Mid-weight crates and export pallets are the steady draw.

Beawar–Bhilwara textile and cement axis — synthetic yarn, denim, processed fabric and cement clinker movement that pulls pallets and shrink-stacked bundles. Light to medium-grade ply.

Add the granite and sandstone trade flowing through Makrana and the wider Rajputana belt, and you have a region whose unit economics reward plywood that is dimensionally honest and consistently glued — because rework at a Mundra warehouse costs far more than the crate itself.

What we ship

From crate-kits to container floors, made to your spec

Packing-grade plywood

Our MR packing-grade plywood is the workhorse for Kishangarh marble crates and Palra-area engineering exports. Sizes are 8×4 feet standard; the thicknesses we ship most often into Rajasthan are 12 mm, 16 mm and 18 mm for crate walls, with 8 mm and 10 mm used for lids, partition dividers and inner blocking. The boards are hot-pressed to our specification set — uniform density, low core gaps, and a glue line that holds through the dry heat of a Rajasthan summer and the cold of a winter sea leg.

Marble export crates

For Kishangarh's slab and block exporters we supply ply cut to crate-kit dimensions so local fabricators or the buyer's own carpentry shop can assemble fast. The typical brief is a heavy-duty open crate or skid base with cross-bracing, capable of carrying 1.5–4 tonnes of polished slab per unit without flex. 18 mm board is the usual call for base and bracing, 12 mm for side panels.

Wooden pallets

Standard sizes we manufacture to order:

1200 × 1000 mm (Euro-adjacent, common for marble tile cartons)

1200 × 800 mm (Euro standard, for textile and processed-goods exports)

1100 × 1100 mm (Asian standard, for GCC-bound containers)

Custom footprints for stone-slab A-frames and heavy machinery skids

Pallets can be supplied ISPM-15 heat-treated and stamped for export use — non-negotiable for any container heading out of Mundra or Pipavav to Europe, the US or Australia.

Container flooring ply

For exporters loading dense, point-load cargo (marble blocks, granite tiles stacked on dunnage, heavy castings), 18 mm container-floor ply spreads the load and protects the container floor from puncture damage and rejection fines. We cut to standard 20-foot and 40-foot container interior dimensions.

Okoume face option

Where the end buyer's spec calls for a lighter, cleaner-finish export crate — typical for high-value textile machinery, electronics or anything where customs inspection happens repeatedly and the crate has to look the part — an Okoume face veneer on the packing or BWR grade is the right call. Light weight, smooth surface, and it takes stencilling and shipping marks cleanly.

Logistics

Kochi to Ajmer as a direct trucking lane

The route from our Perumbavoor dispatch yards to Ajmer is roughly 2,100 km by road, and we run it as a direct trucking lane rather than a rail or coastal-port hop. Two practical reasons:

Inbound rail rakes from Kerala into Rajasthan are slow and require terminal handling at the Jaipur or Ajmer goods yard — that adds 5–8 days versus a direct truck.

Plywood is volume-sensitive, not weight-sensitive. A 32-foot multi-axle full-load truck moves 800–1,000 sheets economically straight from Perumbavoor to a Kishangarh or Ajmer godown.

Typical transit time is 6–8 days door-to-door depending on Maharashtra and Gujarat checkpoints and the monsoon window. The lane runs Perumbavoor → Salem → Bengaluru → Hubli → Pune bypass → Ahmedabad → Udaipur → Ajmer. For smaller orders we consolidate with other Rajasthan deliveries; for full-truck orders we dispatch direct and the customer receives one freight invoice. Export pallets ship ISPM-15 heat-treated and IPPC-stamped so they clear the port without scramble.

Choosing a grade

Which grade for which load

Buyer type in Ajmer region

Typical load

Recommended grade

Marble slab exporter, Kishangarh

2–4 tonne export crates, sea freight

18 mm MR packing-grade base + 12 mm walls; ISPM-15 pallets

Granite block exporter

Open skids, heavy point loads

18 mm packing-grade + container-floor ply

Textile / yarn exporter, Beawar–Bhilwara

Bale or carton pallets, lighter

12 mm packing-grade pallets, ISPM-15

Engineering / electronics exporter

Clean-finish crates for repeated inspection

Okoume-faced ply

Construction / infra contractor

Concrete shuttering, repeat pours

Shuttering ply (BWP, film-faced where specified)

The two failure modes we see most often when buyers under-spec: 12 mm used where 18 mm is needed (the crate flexes and the slab cracks in transit), and non-ISPM pallets sent to an export packer who then has to scramble for replacements at the port. Tell us the load weight and destination country and we will spec the board for you.

FAQ

Common questions from Ajmer buyers

What is the minimum order you ship to Ajmer?

Full-truck loads (32-ft multi-axle, around 800–1,000 sheets depending on thickness) make the freight economics work cleanly. Smaller orders are possible via part-load consolidation, but per-sheet freight rises. For repeat buyers in Kishangarh and Palra we hold a stocking pattern that supports faster top-ups.

Do you supply ISPM-15 stamped pallets?

Yes. Heat-treated, IPPC-stamped pallets are standard for export buyers. Specify the destination country at order time so we cut to the right footprint.

Can you cut sheets to crate-kit sizes before dispatch?

Yes — we pre-cut to a buyer-supplied cutting list. This is common for Kishangarh customers who want their carpentry crew to assemble crates rather than cut from full sheets.
