Why our particle board
Consistent density, clean edges, ready to machine.
Even density
A uniform core that routs and bands cleanly, so edges and fittings come out crisp on the line.
Pre-laminated saves a step
Order it finished one or both sides and it's ready to cut to a cabinet schedule straight away.
Container loads, FOB Cochin
Supplied to furniture makers and dealers abroad, the same board and décor each shipment.
Where particle board is the right call — and where it is not
It is a substrate, not a structural panel. Specified honestly it is economical and stable; specified in the wrong place it fails and takes the job with it.
| Use | Applications |
|---|---|
| Right | Cabinet carcasses, wardrobe interiors, office furniture, laminated surfaces, shop fittings — dry interiors where the face is covered. |
| Wrong | Anything that gets wet, spans a long unsupported shelf, or takes repeated load at a screwed edge. Use plywood, block board or finger-joint board instead. |
Plain or pre-laminated
The decision is simply whether you are finishing it yourself.
| Option | What it means |
|---|---|
| Plain board | You laminate, veneer or paint on your own line. Lower cost per sheet, more work at your end. |
| Pre-laminated | Arrives finished both faces in your chosen decor. Straight to cutting and edge-banding, with no press time. |
| Edge treatment | Edges must be banded or sealed. Exposed particle edges take up moisture and swell — the most common failure we see. |
Questions buyers ask
Particle board, answered.
What is particle board used for?
Dry interior cabinetry, low-load shelving and modular or knock-down furniture — wherever a flat, cost-effective panel is needed and water exposure is low.
What is the difference between plain and pre-laminated?
Plain board you laminate or veneer yourself; pre-laminated arrives finished one or both sides in a décor, ready to cut.
Particle board or plywood — which should I use?
Particle board is lighter and cheaper for dry, low-load furniture; plywood is stronger, holds screws better and tolerates moisture. Match the board to the load and the environment.
What thickness and minimum order?
9–25 mm at 1220 × 2440 mm, supplied by the container load (FCL) FOB Cochin.

Is particle board waterproof?
No. It is a dry-interior substrate. For anything exposed to moisture use plywood on a hardwood core; for a wet area specify a BWP-bonded panel. We will steer you away from particle board where it will not survive.
Can it hold screws?
In the face, adequately for cabinet assembly with the right fixings. At the edge it is weak, which is why carcass design should avoid loading edge screws. Where edge fixing is unavoidable, specify plywood.
Do you supply pre-laminated boards?
Yes, in a range of decors, finished both faces. It removes press time from your line and is the usual choice for volume furniture work.
What thicknesses are available?
The standard furniture range, with thicker boards for worktops and shelving. Send your cutting list and application and we will confirm the thickness that suits.
