Where the packing demand sits in Goa
Goa looks small on a map and then turns out to punch well above its weight on the packing-materials side. Between the pharma majors in Verna, the iron-ore movement around Mormugao, and the steady flow of containerised cargo through the major port, the state burns through a meaningful volume of packing-grade plywood, wooden crates, pallets and dunnage every month. Verna Industrial Estate (South Goa)
Verna is the centre of gravity for Goa's pharma sector, with a cluster of API and formulation units and a long tail of suppliers operating out of the estate. Pharma export packing has very specific requirements: heat-treated crates for ocean freight, dimensional stability so cartons stack cleanly inside the crate, and clean inner faces because pharma QA inspectors look at everything. Verna also carries a steady electronics and engineering component, which adds shuttering-ply demand for civil expansions and plywood crates for heavier machinery exports.
Pilerne, Tuem and Kundaim estates (North Goa)
The northern estates carry a mix of food processing, FMCG, light engineering and beverage units. Pallet demand here tends to be high frequency and lower value: standard four-way ISO pallets, EUR-size pallets for European buyers, and CP-spec pallets for chemical and pharma loads. Mormugao Port and the iron-ore cluster
Mormugao is one of India's older major ports and historically the spine of Goa's iron-ore export. Even with mining cycles fluctuating, the port handles general cargo, container traffic and project consignments. Two demand streams flow from this: heavy-duty wooden dunnage and crating for project cargo and bulk-handled equipment, and container flooring plywood for the steady ICD and CFS traffic feeding the port.
Goa-Karnataka border belt
The Sankhali, Honda and border-adjacent industrial pockets pull in some demand from manufacturers who serve both Goa and the Belgaum-Hubli engineering belt. For pharma export crates out of Verna, 12 mm and 14 mm boards are the most common conversations: strong enough for stacked cartons of formulations or API drums, light enough to keep crate weight reasonable for sea-freight chargeable weight calculations.
Wooden crates and packing cases
For buyers who don't want to run their own carpentry shop, we manufacture knocked-down or assembled crates to drawing. Typical specs for the Goa pharma lane:
- ISPM-15 heat-treated runners and battens, stencilled with the IPPC mark
- 12 mm or 15 mm packing-ply panels, depending on gross weight

NH-66 along the coast is a known commodity at this point, running through Mangaluru, Karwar and Canacona, and trucks on this lane carry mixed loads on a daily basis. That keeps freight competitive and predictable, especially for buyers who can plan in full-truck or near-full-truck quantities.

Do you supply ISPM-15 compliant crates direct to Goa?
Yes. Our facilities operate ISPM-15 heat-treatment chambers, and crates ship with the IPPC stencil applied. This matters for pharma and engineering exports moving through Mormugao or trans-shipped via Nhava Sheva.
What is the minimum order quantity for a Kochi to Goa shipment?
Economics work best at full-truck quantities, typically a 32-ft load of plywood, or an equivalent volume of crates and pallets. Smaller orders are possible on a part-load basis, but per-unit freight rises sharply below half-truck volumes.
Can you supply Okoume-faced packing ply for export crates?
