A corridor, not one estate

Hosur is not one estate, it is a corridor running from the SIPCOT phases down to the Bengaluru–Krishnagiri NH-44 spine. Buyers placing plywood and crate orders typically sit in one of these belts:

  • SIPCOT Hosur Phase I and Phase II — the original anchor estates housing two-wheeler and commercial-vehicle assembly, earth-moving equipment manufacturing, precision watch and component plants, and a dense ecosystem of Tier-1 and Tier-2 auto-component suppliers.
  • Mookandapalli, Bagalur Road and Belagondapalli clusters — sheet-metal pressing, forging, plastic moulding and electronics assembly units that ship to Bengaluru OEMs every day.
  • Thally Road / Berigai stretch — newer warehousing and contract-manufacturing capacity that has spilled over from Bengaluru and Whitefield as land there got expensive.
  • Defence and aerospace electronics — a small but high-value pocket of vendors building boxed sub-assemblies for export.

The packaging brief is consistent across all of them: heavy, dimensionally awkward, often export-bound, and zero tolerance for moisture damage or pest rejection at a foreign port. That is a plywood problem, not a corrugated one.

Packing-grade ply, crates and pallets

The bulk of what leaves our yard for Hosur is commercial / rubberwood-core packing-grade plywood in the 8 ft × 4 ft format, MR-bonded for the long export legs. Thickness follows the load:

All rates are ex-factory; GST and transport extra. Okoume plywood — a clean, light face veneer on the same packing or BWR core — is quoted separately for premium export crates. We also build full crates and pallets to your drawing, using seasoned jackwood or rubberwood runners, and supply sawn timber alongside the ply on the same vehicle.

Logistics

Kochi to Hosur — a clean 370 km run

Hosur is roughly 370 km by road from our Perumbavoor yard via NH-544 through the Walayar–Coimbatore corridor and NH-44 onward. Loaded transit on a 32-ft or 22-ft truck is typically one overnight-plus run. We dispatch single-customer full loads and, for smaller orders, consolidate part-loads with other Tamil Nadu deliveries. For exporters with tight container-stuffing windows, we hold a dispatch slot and confirm a truck the same day a PI is signed.

Choosing a grade

Which grade for which job

  • Packing-grade commercial / rubberwood ply — the default for the vast majority of Hosur crates: auto components, machine tools, general engineering exports. Strong enough for multi-tonne loads with proper hardwood runners, priced for volume.
  • Okoume-faced ply — when the consignee specifies a clean, light face for a high-value module or re-usable crate. Quoted on request.
  • Shuttering ply — for the construction and infra contractors around Hosur (warehouse and factory builds). A different product; not interchangeable with packing grade.

Can you handle ISPM-15 stamping?

Yes. We supply heat-treated, ISPM-15 marked wood-packaging material where the buyer is exporting; the treatment certificate travels with the consignment.

What is the lead time from order confirmation?

Standard packing-grade plywood in volume runners (12 mm, 18 mm) typically dispatches within 5–7 working days of confirmation and advance. Custom crate jobs depend on drawings — usually 10–14 days for a first production run, faster on repeats. Hosur transit adds the road drive on top.
