NH-544 from Kochi to Salem (~362 km, five hours), then NH-44/NH-48 from Salem to Chennai through Krishnagiri-Vellore (~342 km, five hours). Total: 10-12 hours of driving, 18-22 hours of truck transit with halts. Loads dispatched in the morning are unloading in Sriperumbudur or Oragadam the next morning. Walayar border check (KL-TN) is the only paperwork stop — e-way bill and GST documentation ready, usually under 30 minutes.
