Cochin Wood Industries is a plywood manufacturer. Your film faced plywood is made in our factories in Perumbavoor, about 40 km from Cochin Port, then stuffed into containers and loaded at Cochin. There is no trading layer between the factory and your quote: the desk that prices your enquiry is the desk that books your production.

The panel is a hardwood-core sheet with a phenolic film on both faces, built for slab decks, columns and wall forms. It is the same panel we describe on our film-faced shuttering plywood page; this page explains how it reaches a UAE site.

What you can specify

Choose the bond first, then the thickness and the nominal sheet weight. The combinations below are enquiry options; availability, batch weight and the final construction are confirmed in the written quotation.

Weights are nominal per 8 × 4 ft sheet. For an 18 mm, 38 kg enquiry the bond grade must be confirmed before quotation; do not assume BWR or BWP from weight alone. The full specification, including film and edge notes, is on the product page.

How it reaches the UAE: FOB Cochin to Jebel Ali or Khalifa Port

Quotes are in USD. FOB Cochin is the default: we deliver the goods on board at Cochin and you control the freight and the clearing. CFR or CIF (for example CIF Jebel Ali) is available where agreed, priced against current freight. Under either route the cargo travels by container. The minimum export order is one 20 ft or 40 ft container, with part-loads and LCL where the route and quantity allow, confirmed on the quote.

Jebel Ali is the main gateway for Dubai and, by road, the rest of the Emirates; Khalifa Port serves Abu Dhabi. Direct sailings from Cochin typically take 4 to 7 days port to port, and transhipment routings take longer. Add production and stuffing time at our end; we confirm a dispatch schedule with every order.

We do not hold a warehouse or local stock in the UAE. We ship to the port you name; under FOB Cochin, delivery takes place on board at Cochin. Onward trucking to your site is arranged by you or your clearing agent. Our UAE terms, routing and import notes are on the plywood export to the UAE guide.

Duty, VAT and documents

Import duty and VAT are charged at clearance by UAE customs and are handled by your agent. The GCC Common External Tariff is 5% customs duty on the CIF value, and 5% UAE VAT is charged on the customs value plus customs duty, not on the CIF value alone. Your clearing agent confirms the tariff line and the rates in force.

Every container ships with a commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and bill of lading, so the shipment can clear at Jebel Ali or Khalifa Port without hold-ups. Plywood panels are processed wood and exempt from ISPM-15.

Payment

Payment is by bank transfer (T/T). Standard products ship on 50 percent advance with the balance before dispatch; made-to-order goods are 100 percent advance. We do not publish rates: each quote is built against your bond, thickness, sheet weight and quantity. See how we quote for what goes into it.
