The Renigunta corridor now anchors one of South India's fastest-growing Electronics Manufacturing Clusters, a working auto-ancillary belt, and a steady pharma and food-processing pipeline feeding the Krishnapatnam and Chennai gateways. Every one of those factories ships finished goods in wood. Draw a 30-km circle around Tirupati Renigunta airport and you cover the bulk of the city's demand for industrial wood packaging, which breaks roughly into four belts.

Sri City and the Tirupati EMC at Renigunta

The Tirupati Electronics Manufacturing Cluster, notified at Renigunta and extended around the Sri City SEZ corridor, is the headline. Mobile-phone assembly, smart-device CKD lines and electronics contract manufacturers operate here at scale. The packaging implication is specific: lots of CKD inbound, lots of finished consumer-electronics outbound, and a constant flow of high-value reusable export crates moving between vendor parks. Krishnapatnam Port linkage

Tirupati's export factories don't always rail out — a sizable share of containers move by road to Krishnapatnam (roughly 130 km east) or Chennai (roughly 150 km south-east) for stuffing. Heat-treated crates, built to drawing

We manufacture wooden cases against the buyer's BOM, IPPC-stamped and ISPM-15 compliant, with steel strapping, internal cleating and corner protection. Electronics buyers in the EMC typically need cases with internal foam mounts that we cut to spec. Heavier auto and machinery buyers ask for skid-mounted closed cases with 18 mm bottoms.

Wooden pallets

Two-way and four-way entry pallets, standard 1200 × 1000 mm and 1100 × 1100 mm footprints, plus made-to-order sizes. Heat-treated and stamped where the buyer ships internationally. For the YSR Kopparthy auto belt, the typical request is a forklift-rated four-way pallet capable of repeated handling between vendor and assembler.

Container flooring plywood

For exporters loading FCLs at Krishnapatnam or Chennai, we supply 18–28 mm container-flooring grade for re-skinning leased boxes and for one-time export floors under heavy machinery loads.

Sawn timber and runners

Jackwood and rubberwood runners against the buyer's specified section — used by Tirupati case makers building their own crates and needing matched framing timber alongside the face ply.

Kochi to Tirupati: the lane and the economics

The road distance from Kochi/Ernakulam to Tirupati is roughly 750 km. The standard lane runs Kochi – Salem – Krishnagiri – Chittoor – Tirupati. A loaded 32-foot single-axle or 22-foot truck typically transits in 36 to 48 hours from dispatch, depending on driver changeover and night-running restrictions through Tamil Nadu.

For full-truck despatches, we quote ex-factory Kochi with freight separately so the Tirupati buyer can compare against any local source. Part-truck and consolidated loads work when the buyer's offtake is between 200 and 600 sheets at a time, sharing the lane with other South-Indian deliveries. For container quantities or repeat monthly programs, we plan dedicated trips and lock the rate against a monthly schedule.

Compared with North-Indian or Punjab/Yamunanagar sources, the Kochi origin is closer to Tirupati by about 1,200–1,400 km, which usually shows up as a 1.5–2 day faster transit and a meaningfully lower freight component on each sheet. Where crates and pallets ship internationally, they leave us heat-treated and IPPC-stamped to the ISPM-15 standard, so they can be loaded straight at Krishnapatnam or Chennai without re-treatment at the port.

When packing-grade rubberwood ply is the right call

For the majority of Tirupati crating — finished-goods boxes, auto-ancillary export cases, pharma cartons over wood frames — our commercial packing-grade rubberwood plywood is the workhorse. It costs efficiently per square foot, takes nails and screws without splitting, and meets ISPM-15 after heat treatment. Most EMC buyers we quote land here.

When the Okoume face makes sense

Okoume is a premium face-veneer option on our packing and BWR grades. For Tirupati it makes sense when the buyer is shipping high-value electronics or instrumentation where a cleaner face, lighter sheet weight and a longer service life justify the higher rate — for example, reusable inter-plant crates between vendor parks, or display-grade outer cases. We price the Okoume-faced option on request rather than off the standard packing card.

When shuttering ply is the answer

Tirupati's industrial expansion means active EPC sites — new sheds at the EMC, vendor-park construction at Sri City, road and warehouse builds along the Krishnapatnam corridor. Civil contractors there use BWP/BWR shuttering plywood, not packing grade. We manufacture both, and the rule is simple: anything cast against concrete needs shuttering ply, anything boxing a product needs packing ply.
