Three corridors, three packing profiles

Vadodara sits at the crossroads of three industrial corridors that all generate serious packing volume: the petrochemical cluster around Koyali and Dumad, the pharma belt running north toward Halol and Savli, and the engineering and automotive footprint that has expanded along NH-48. Every drum, every reactor part, every vial-filled carton that leaves these plants needs a wooden case or pallet underneath it. That is the demand we ship into from Kochi. It is one of the few Indian cities where you can drive twenty kilometres in three directions and hit three completely different export profiles, and the packing requirements look quite different in each one.

Petrochemicals and chemicals

The Koyali refinery belt and the chemical units around Nandesari GIDC, Ranoli and Dumad generate steady demand for heavy-duty drum packing, skid bases for pumps and valves, and protective crates for catalyst and resin shipments. Drum collars, four-way pallets rated for 1,000 to 1,500 kg, and plywood-walled cases for dangerous-goods consignments are the typical asks.

Pharma and fine chemicals

The Halol GIDC corridor and the Savli industrial area host a dense pharma cluster covering APIs, formulations and intermediates. Pharma export crates need to be clean, consistent in dimension and dependably stamped, because the cargo inside is high-value and temperature-sensitive. Repeat tenders for monthly export shipments through Mundra and JNPT are common from this belt.

Automotive and heavy engineering

Waghodia GIDC, Manjusar GIDC and the units along the Vadodara-Halol highway handle machined components, hydraulic assemblies and earth-moving spares. Loads run heavy and odd-shaped, so the packing usually means thicker plywood walls, internal bracing and custom skid bases rather than off-the-shelf box sizes.

Packing-grade plywood sheets

Our MR-Packing grade comes in thicknesses from 6 mm up to 18 mm in standard 8x4 sheets. Buyers in Vadodara usually want a working mix:

The face veneer can be specified as commercial hardwood, rubberwood, or Okoume on the BWR variants where appearance and moisture tolerance matter for longer sea legs.

Finished crates and cases

For buyers who do not want to fabricate in-house, we build ready-to-pack wooden cases to ISPM-15 specification with the heat-treatment stamp. Standard footprints we make routinely: 1200x800 mm, 1200x1000 mm, and custom drum-cluster crates for petrochem shipments. Logistics

Kochi to Vadodara: routes and transit

The road distance from our Perumbavoor dispatch yards to Vadodara is roughly 1,750 km. Three routes work, and we pick based on load size and timing.

A 32-foot single-axle truck out of Perumbavoor carries roughly 14 to 16 tonnes of plywood, which works out to around 350 to 400 sheets of 18 mm or proportionally more of thinner stock. For pharma buyers who run monthly shipments, a planned dispatch schedule keeps freight per sheet predictable and avoids spot-rate volatility. All export crates carry the ISPM-15 heat-treatment stamp from an approved facility, and the compliance certificate travels with the dispatch documents.

Which grade for which Vadodara load

Use MR-Packing grade when

• The crate is going by road or short sea route to a domestic or GCC destination.
• Cargo weight is under 2 tonnes per case.
• The receiver does not require a hardwood-face cosmetic finish.

Use Okoume-faced BWR when

• The shipment is going by sea to Europe, the US, or longer routes via Mundra.
• The cargo is pharma export or high-value chemical product where the receiving auditor scrutinises packing material.
• Multiple humidity cycles are expected in transit.

Use shuttering ply when

• The buyer is on the construction side — civil contractors building new factory blocks in Halol or Savli often pull shuttering ply alongside packing material on the same truck.
• The application is concrete formwork rather than packing.

Okoume is a face-veneer option on the packing and BWR grades, not a separate grade — specify it where appearance and moisture tolerance justify the premium.

Yes. All export crates carry the ISPM-15 heat-treatment stamp from an approved facility. The compliance certificate travels with the dispatch documents so the freight forwarder can clear customs without delays.

What is the minimum order quantity for a direct dispatch to Vadodara?

For sheets, we prefer to load a full truck (14 to 16 tonnes) because part-load freight from Kerala to Gujarat eats into the unit economics. For finished crates and pallets, the minimum depends on the spec — small batches of custom crates can ride with a sheet load to the same destination.
