Questions buyers ask

Container flooring plywood, answered.

What is container flooring plywood?

It is a high-density hardwood plywood, usually 28 mm thick, that forms the structural floor of a shipping container. It carries the full cargo load and a moving forklift, so it must meet the IICL TB-001 standard for container floorboards.

What standard does it follow?

IICL TB-001, issued by the Institute of International Container Lessors. It sets the bending strength, screw-holding, glue-bond and thickness tolerance a board must pass to be fitted as a container floor.

What thickness and panel size do you supply?

The standard is 28 mm at 2440 × 1220 mm (also 2400 × 1160 mm). We also press 21, 27 and 30 mm, with tongue-and-groove or bevel edges cut to your drawing.

What timber is the core?

A full hardwood core — keruing / apitong or equivalent dense tropical hardwood — bonded with phenol-formaldehyde (WBP) for a 100% waterproof glue line and a density of 700–800 kg/m³.

How is it different from shuttering plywood?

Shuttering plywood is film-faced formwork for concrete. Container flooring is denser, thicker, anti-slip and graded to IICL TB-001 to take rolling cargo loads — a different board for a different job.

Can you export it, and what is the minimum order?

Yes. We supply container flooring plywood FOB Cochin in full container loads, with export documentation ready at dispatch. Send your dimensions and volume and the desk replies with a written quote within one business day.
