One of north India's densest metal-working clusters

Faridabad packs one of the heaviest concentrations of metal-working capacity in north India into a single city. Between the NIT industrial belt, the Ballabgarh foundries and the auto-component clusters feeding commercial-vehicle, tractor and construction-equipment lines, the city ships out crates of castings, forgings, gearboxes and farm-equipment subassemblies almost every working hour. Each of those crates needs plywood that will not flex, fail or split when a 600 kg cylinder head lands on a truck bed in 44-degree summer heat. Faridabad is not one industrial estate but a stack of overlapping belts, and the crate spec changes with each one, so it helps to know which belt the load is moving through before you order.

NIT and the old industrial spine

The NIT (New Industrial Township) sectors — broadly Sectors 6, 24, 25, 27, 31 and the older Sector 58/59 cluster — house the original Faridabad engineering economy: sheet-metal pressings, tool-room work, automotive electricals, switchgear, fasteners and a long tail of tier-2 and tier-3 component suppliers. Output here tends to ship in mid-sized crates of 80 kg to 400 kg, often consolidated into LCL or part-load trucking toward Mundra, Pipavav or domestic OEM plants.

Ballabgarh and the foundry belt

South of the city, Ballabgarh and the surrounding sectors are foundry-heavy: grey iron, ductile iron and aluminium castings going to commercial-vehicle, tractor and construction-equipment manufacturers. Castings are unforgiving cargo — sharp burrs, point loads, and weights that frequently cross 250 kg per piece. Plywood crates here have to act as both a structural frame and an abrasion barrier.

Sectors 58 to 68 and the newer estates

The newer auto-component and assembly units along the Mathura Road belt, plus the Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad corridor, lean toward larger consolidated export shipments — gearboxes, hydraulic assemblies, axle parts and farm-equipment subassemblies bound for the GCC, Africa and Southeast Asia. These typically need export-spec wooden cases, container loading plans and stronger pallet stacks.

Packing-grade plywood (sheets)

Our core line — commercial and rubberwood-faced packing plywood, manufactured to Cochin Wood specifications at our facilities in Perumbavoor. Standard thickness range:

Standard sheet size is 8 ft x 4 ft, with shorter cuts available on indent. All packing-grade is supplied EX-FACTORY; GST and transport are quoted separately so buyers can see the real freight number on the Kochi-Faridabad lane. An Okoume face veneer is available as an option on the packing or BWR substrate where a cleaner, lighter, more presentable crate surface is needed.

Wooden crates and packing cases

For buyers who would rather take a finished crate than fabricate locally, we build cases to drawing — open-top, closed, skidded base, with corner reinforcement and heat-treatment stamping where the cargo is bound for export. Typical Faridabad-bound builds include foundry casting cases, gear and transmission boxes, and consolidated export crates for auto-component exporters.

Pallets

We supply two-way and four-way wooden pallets in the common Indian footprints — 1200 x 1000 mm and 1100 x 1100 mm — plus custom sizes for OEM-specified loads. For Faridabad foundries handling heavy castings, the 1200 x 1000 four-way design with hardwood runners is the workhorse.

Container flooring and dunnage

For exporters loading 20 ft and 40 ft containers out of ICDs and onward to Mundra or Pipavav, we supply thicker packing-grade sheets used as flooring overlay and bracing dunnage — typically 12 mm or 18 mm rubberwood ply, cut to container width with a small clearance for easy fit.

Kochi to Faridabad: two routes, one transparent quote

Faridabad sits roughly 2,350 km north of Kochi. We move material on two main modes, and the right choice depends on lot size and urgency.

Direct trucking lane

For full-truck and part-load consignments, we dispatch 32 ft single-axle and multi-axle trucks via the NH-44 corridor through Bangalore, Hyderabad, Nagpur and Agra, terminating in Faridabad sectors directly. Transit time runs 6 to 8 days door-to-door depending on season and toll-plaza congestion at Delhi-NCR entry points. This is the right mode for finished crates, pallet stacks and time-sensitive sheet orders.

Port-routed economics

For large sheet-only consignments where transit time is less critical, we can load containers FOB Cochin port and route through coastal shipping or rail to inland container depots near Delhi-NCR, with a final road leg into Faridabad. This often works out cheaper per sheet on full-container volumes, particularly for buyers with their own ICD account. Export-bound cases are built ISPM-15 compliant with IPPC heat-treatment stamping, with the certificate supplied in the dispatch documents so the load clears phytosanitary checks at the loading port. We provide a clear breakup of EX-FACTORY rate, transport and GST on every quote so the buyer can compare the two routes and pick.

Choosing a grade

Which grade for which load

Buyers in Faridabad frequently ask which grade is the right call. A short rulebook:

• Routine domestic crates and pallets (under 500 kg): commercial or rubberwood-faced packing-grade plywood, 10–16 mm. Best cost-per-crate, designed for one-way packing duty.
• Export crates, premium finish or higher cosmetic spec: an Okoume face veneer on the packing or BWR substrate. Lighter, cleaner surface, better stencilling — useful for export buyers shipping to the GCC and Vietnam who want a presentable crate at the receiving end.
• Heavy castings, shock loads, repeated handling: 16–18 mm packing-grade base with hardwood corner reinforcement, or move up to a BWR substrate where moisture exposure is likely.
• Construction, formwork, infra projects on Faridabad sites: shuttering ply (film-faced) — a different product family from packing ply, designed for concrete contact and multiple pours.

We do not push buyers up the price ladder unnecessarily. If a 12 mm packing sheet does the job, that is what we quote.

What is the minimum order for sheets to Faridabad?
