Packing-grade plywood, crates and pallets for Warangal's textile and granite belt

We manufacture packing-grade plywood, wooden crates, pallets and container flooring in Perumbavoor, where our group has run mill operations since 1986. Warangal's textile-machinery and granite shippers sit inside our normal pan-India dispatch grid, and we ship direct from our own facilities.

The industrial picture

A quiet, steady plywood-consuming belt

Warangal does not lead most plywood-buyer maps, but the city pulls a consistent stream of packing-grade material. Two end-uses drive almost all of it: textile machinery and finished-fabric crates moving out of the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park and the surrounding hand-loom and power-loom clusters, and granite slab packing moving south to Chennai port or west to Mundra. Both jobs need plywood that survives long road runs, weather and rough fork-lift handling. That is the lane our operation has been built around, and Warangal sits cleanly inside our normal dispatch grid.

Warangal Tri-City (Warangal-Hanamkonda-Kazipet) anchors the manufacturing belt of north Telangana. The cluster has a specific shape that matters when sizing packing material.

Textile and apparel

  • Kakatiya Mega Textile Park (KMTP), Shayampet/Geesugonda — Telangana's flagship textile park spread across roughly 1,200 acres, end-to-end from spinning to garmenting. That means heavy machinery inbound (looms, dyeing lines, finishing units) and finished goods outbound by container.
  • Hand-loom and power-loom clusters in Warangal Rural, Bhupalpally and Chennur, with the Sircilla power-loom belt adjacent. Mostly outbound fabric in compact crates or pallet loads.
  • Warangal IDA-Madikonda and the older industrial estates around Kazipet — mixed engineering and ancillary units that crate spares and small machine sub-assemblies.

Granite and stone

  • The Karimnagar–Warangal granite belt (Tandur black, Telangana black, multi-colour) feeds processing yards around Warangal and Jangaon. Slabs and gangsaw blocks ship in heavy A-frame crates with plywood bottoms and packing-grade ply spacers.

Engineering, food and FMCG ancillaries

  • MSME estates at Madikonda and along NH-163 — light engineering, electrical panels, food-grade machinery — typical buyers of mid-size plywood boxes and four-way pallets.

What we ship

Sheets, crates, pallets and container flooring

Most Warangal orders fall into four product buckets. We quote ex-factory Kochi/Perumbavoor and arrange the truck on request.

1. Packing-grade plywood (sheets)

Our core product. Made on a commercial hardwood / rubberwood core, with the glue line tuned for crate life rather than furniture life. Standard thicknesses we move into Telangana:

ThicknessTypical useSheet size
6 mmLight fabric cartons, lid panels8 x 4 ft
8–10 mmMedium textile-machine crates, granite slab spacers8 x 4 ft
12 mmGeneral-purpose packing case sides and top8 x 4 ft
15–16 mmHeavy machinery sides, pallet deck boards8 x 4 ft / cut-to-size
18 mmCrate floors, pallet stringers, container flooring repair8 x 4 ft / 8 x 4 ft EU

Cut-to-size is available on full-truck orders, which usually saves the Warangal carpenter a day of saw work on heavy granite crates.

2. Built-up wooden crates and boxes

For machinery exports leaving the textile park, we manufacture ISPM-15 heat-treated crates built around 12–18 mm packing-ply skins on hardwood framing. We can prefab and dispatch nested or knocked-down, depending on container fit. Typical inside dimensions we build are loom-frame size (roughly 2.4 m x 1.6 m x 1.8 m) and dyeing-machine size (3 m+ long); both ride out the Kochi–Warangal road run without issue when banded correctly.

3. Pallets

Two-way and four-way pallets in 1200 x 1000 mm (Indian standard) and 1200 x 800 mm (Euro), built on hardwood blocks or stringers with packing-grade ply deck boards. For granite slab yards we also build heavy-deck pallets (18 mm deck, double bottom) rated for repeated fork-lift cycles.

4. Container flooring plywood

18 mm and 21 mm phenolic-bonded ply for retrofitting 20-ft and 40-ft container floors — useful for granite exporters running their own captive container fleets to Chennai and Krishnapatnam. We supply in standard container-floor sheet sizes and can pre-drill on bulk orders.

Logistics

Kochi to Warangal: the lane

The road math is the first thing a Warangal buyer should know, because freight is the swing variable on a plywood quote.

  • Distance: roughly 1,250–1,320 km depending on route (NH-544 Kochi–Salem–Bangalore–Hyderabad–Warangal versus Kochi–Coimbatore–Kurnool–Hyderabad–Warangal).
  • Transit time: 3–4 days door-to-door for a full truck (32-ft single-axle or 22-ft, depending on volume). Part-loads via Hyderabad transhipment add a day.
  • Truck size economics: a 22-ft truck holds roughly 350–400 sheets of 8 x 4 x 12 mm; a 32-ft single-axle takes 600–700 sheets. Granite crate orders are bulkier, so we cube the load before quoting.
  • Port alternative: for very large lots (5+ containers), some buyers prefer Cochin Port → Krishnapatnam → road to Warangal. We can quote either way.

For most Warangal buyers, the right anchor question is: full truck or half? Below half a 22-ft load, part-load freight per sheet usually overtakes the savings on the plywood itself, and a local Hyderabad source can look cheaper on paper. Above half-truck, our Kochi pricing competes cleanly on a delivered basis.

For machinery exports, the crates we manufacture are ISPM-15 heat-treated and stamped at origin, so they arrive in Warangal ready to load. That removes any dependence on local heat-treatment availability before a sailing.

Choosing a grade

Which grade fits which Warangal load

Packing grade (rubberwood / commercial hardwood core)

The default for almost everything moving out of Warangal: textile-machine crates, fabric pallets, granite spacers, engineering-spares boxes. Built for one or two one-way journeys with banding, not for re-use as furniture stock.

Okoume face / BWR construction

Step up to an Okoume-faced or BWR-grade construction when (a) the crate is moving by sea container to the GCC or South-East Asia from Krishnapatnam or Chennai, (b) the consignee has weight limits and Okoume's lighter density helps the airfreight or volumetric calculation, or (c) the buyer wants a cleaner face for branded engineering exports. Okoume is a face-veneer option on our packing and BWR grades, not a separate grade, and we quote it on a per-job basis.

Shuttering ply

Not a packing product, but worth a mention. Warangal has continuous infra work (Kaleshwaram support structures, KMTP expansion phases, road widening on NH-163). When a construction buyer asks for "packing ply" for shuttering use, that is the wrong call — film-faced shuttering ply lasts 15–25 pours where packing ply will give up in 2–3. We carry both and will steer the spec correctly before quoting.

FAQ

Common Warangal questions

Do you supply ISPM-15 stamped crates for Warangal exporters?

Yes. We ship ISPM-15 heat-treated, stamped crates from our facility — the wood is treated and stamped at origin, and the crate arrives in Warangal ready to load with the consignor's goods. Most textile-machine exporters take this route to avoid local heat-treatment availability gaps.

What is your minimum order for Warangal dispatch?

Economics start to work at around half a 22-ft truck — roughly 150–200 sheets of mixed thickness, or one 20-ft worth of built-up crates. Below that, part-load is possible but the freight per sheet rises sharply.

How long from PI to delivery?

For standard packing-grade sheet stock: 3–5 days production plus 3–4 days transit, so plan for around 8–10 days from confirmed PI. Built-up crates add 5–7 days for fabrication depending on the spec sheet.
